But it doesn't really matter which one you play because they're all the same, which makes releasing yet another one kind of disappointing. It might be time to start creating new games.

Have you seen the Real-time demo Square Enix just released? Motherfucker...

Again, this is not a cinematic, but a real-time rendered demo by a next-gen console (xBox 3 and PS4). The game is FF Versus XIII btw (hopefully "what FF XIII should have been".)

*want*

Here's some old gameplay footage. It indeed looks like a true FF game, unlike XIII.

And here's an extended trailer. Holy fucking shit.

Now we need a release date...

And I'm adding the new Hitman to my list. Sounds fun.

And since when has popular opinion ever been a proper indicator of quality? I think Justin Bieber is terrible, but 8 million likes on facebook beg to differ.

The point is valid. Call of Duty is basically the new Madden, and each year you will get the same game re-polished with a few added features and another year's worth of online play doing the same thing you did before, just on slightly reworked maps.

Halo is very similar, when they opened the Microsoft E3 showcase with the Halo 4 trailer I was surprised at how generic it looked. I couldn't believe it was something they were proud of; it was exactly the same as all the previous games, lol.

You really need to ask that? As I said, millions of people play EVERY DAY. Those people spend $60 a year in these games, and a large chunk of them pay $50 a year for Elite. Money rules the world, and activision is sitting on a gold mine. Just because a couple thousand people are bored with CoD will not change the fact that MILLIONS OF PEOPLE from all over the world play EVERY DAY. It's all about the almighty $$, and as long as people continue to pay, then shows like E3 will continue to showcase games like CoD and Halo.

Fuck off, you know I'm right.

At least Halo isn't coming out every year.

I just can't understand why people bitch about it. You don't like Call of Duty anymore, good for you. If you don't want to play it and don't care about it, then don't read the articles and watch the videos then go to a site bitching about it. As soon as Microsoft started showing Black Ops 2 you could of turned your speakers off or changed the channel, whatever. Instead you watch and listen and then bitch and complain. Put that energy towards the games you want to know more about, the ones that haven't bored you.

But hey, what the hell do I know.

The problem is the fact that all game companies are making shitty games nowadays because they are concentrating on games that make money. There is no reason that they can't make games that fulfill both those requirements. I think the fact that they are releasing so many games in the same series is making it difficult to think in new directions, they end up releasing the same game with two new weapons or one new move or whatever. The reason that it drives me crazy is because I love gaming and I loved games like Halo 1 and even the first few Call of Duty games and I know that those games were created in the first place as genuinely great games that brought the medium into new territory (not so much for Halo, but the first CoD game was pretty fucking sick.) And it's not just FPS games, Square turned the latest Final Fantasy games into dumbed down crap, Starcraft 2 was meh, Diablo 3 is a steaming pile of shit and so on.

I'm not trying to criticize anyone for playing CoD, I'm just sad about what has happened to gaming in general as an effect of it going mainstream.

And as I've been saying, if people continue to spend their money on things like CoD, they'll continue to be the way games go. Don't hate the companies and businesses that produce these games, at the end of the day they are companies and businesses who exist to make money. If you found something at your work tha made a lot of money, would you not try to put as much of that thing out there as possible?

Everybody just wants to get paid.

Your points are not contradictory, hence you all are quite right. Kumbaya.

On another note, the new Unreal Engine 4. 2018 looks nice.

Been mixing it up between Max Payne 3, CoD: MW3, and UFC 3.

I'm all about the trilogies.

My "addictedness rating" on Football Manager has gone from "turning your underwear inside-out saves on washing time" to "real football managers don't need food" to now saying "Better order another takeaway pizza." Hah.

FM addictedness ratings are amusing. :)
One thing I was pleasantly surprised of in Anno 1404 is that the game vocally and periodically *tells* you to take a break. It goes from "Ooh, it's been one hour already..", to "Wow, two hours. You should take a break.", to "It's been 4 hours now friend, I REALLY suggest you take a break from the game." Never played a longer session than this, but there should be more. I thought it was pretty nice of the developers.

edit: speaking of addictive games, I want to play Diablo 3 but there's no way in hell I'm paying what they're asking for it. Wait, I shall.
