Yeah, France played very good. Interesting, no one has secured quarterfinals yet. Next four days will be nerve wrecking.

Theo Walcott: BOOM.

Average quality so far, but intense to follow :dio:

Thank you England, now we have to play an already eliminated Sweden (their subs perhaps?) Per-fect.

I love how all the people around here, here being where I live not MR, drive around with these flags in their cars. For 2 months the become huge SOCCER fans. Then when it's all over, they don't care anymore.

They cheer for their (originating) country. After all they have to remain busy, with the NHL post-season being over and everything...

Not everybody here is a hockey fan, I get it. But why for only a few weeks do people care about a sport, then not give a shit for a year? Sure there are some serious fans here, but there are so many (hate to say it again) band wagon fans. Like my roommate for example. He's German. Doesn't give 2 flying fucks about football all year long, but now he walks around in his German shirt and pretending he knows what going on in the tournament. He doesn't know a word of German, doesn't know a single players name, and has never been to Germany. My ancestors are English and Scottish, but I'm not cheering for either team.

I don't get it. Either like it or dont. Don't pretend for a few weeks out of the year just to be cool.

Haha, I'm more German than this guy
Yeah I hear you, this sort of behaviour is quite ridiculous. Tell him one of the best players of the team, Bastian Schweinsteiger, has a last name that can be translated as "Pig Raiser". That should cool him off, tee-hee.

I'm going to say it before Azrael does: Willems should have been sent off.

The Netherlands are being completely owned. Boy do they suck, what a disappointment. Portugal is offensively pretty strong, and reminds me a lot of France, in their propension to fail scoring unmissable goals. A very good looking team though.

OOH, VAN DER VAART HITS THE POST!

Done! The first two quarter finals are Czech Rep. vs. Portugal and Germany vs. Greece.

A Portugal vs. Germany rematch in semi-finals?

Then there are those who just love sports and major events. I have tons of buddies who does´t follow NBA, NHL or NFL, but all are up for playoffs and finals. No biggie if you ask me.

+1000

The Italian-American Jersey Shore wannabes all bust out the Italian jerseys around here every WC, but can't name the last time Italy went to a final. It is so stupid, but hardly different from the ludicrous amount of Japan and Korea worship prevalent in anime and gaming communities.

Willems played a rough game but Bruno Alves was also pushing his luck.

the team has improved considerably compared to their qualification/preparation form, let's hope they can keep it up. Pepe has been relentless so far! Nani is also in good shape, as is Coentrão. he gets too much shit from the idiot spaniards, imo he's one of the best left-backs in the world.

Germany is looking very solid. Spain and Germany are my favourites to take it, with France as surprise package... but let's wait until your third match to make sure.

Nani has been your best so far in this tournament. No doubt. When he is on top of his game he´s unbelievable.

not the best... no one in attack has been the best so far. we can't miss so many chances.

did you guys that Ronaldo changed his hairstyle during halftime? looking at the squad, it's one category where we have everyone beat. not even the Italians can keep up with this shit.
