Never been a big fan of Ronaldo and Portugal, but I'm glad they won and kicked Holland out. I like teams that breath as one, and have restecp ( as Ali G would put it ) for each other, hell, even Ronaldo helps in defence. Something you cannot say about Holland. Very good defence, very good midfield and wingers, solid strikers, they can definitely go places.

He makes Portuguese men look pretty bad. Mereles changed his coiffure as well, though he looks less faggy now.

mind you, Portugal wasn't exactly breathing as one up until very recently. and Ronaldo didn't help much in the two first matches. his attitude did change completely, though.

personally i'm a big fan of the guy. he's arrogant but he's also a phenomenal player and a model professional. dunno if you remember him from his Sporting days, he was just a tall kid with good dribbling and an eye for goal. his speed, strength, distance shooting, free kicks, heading, strong left foot, it all came with practise. he doesn't drink and i've never seen a story of him getting caught up in the nightlife, all his colleagues comment on his dedication during practise, and apparently he still stays on to train after all his teammates are done.

Meireles never looked faggy, what with the tattoos and shit.

Shaggy mohawk = instant fagdom. Sorry.

I agree about Ronaldo being gifted as fuck - his sprinting speeds are often phenomenal. But the attitude is a real problem - Belgian commenters were surprised to see him congratulate teammates in this last match, so let's hope he can continue on that note.

Being fair, we were pretty shit too. Although the dopey grin on Rooney's face after his hair scored made me laugh loads.

England - Italy should be fun, my local (which happens to be the Aberdeen FC supporter's bar as well) has Italian flags hanging out and a Peroni sponsored deal - "since we're no goin', we're supportin' Italy". Yaaassssss.

several noteworthy topics:
- IBRACADABRA! such shame that one of the finest players in the tournament has to leave us so soon.
- Balotelli not giving a fuck
- Bendtner gets fined €100.000 for showing unauthorised advertising, the Croatian Federation gets fined €80.000 for its racist fucking fans. nice of UEFA to remind us what really matters in modern football.
- Sepp Blatter coming out and saying that we need goal line technology.

sorry for the use of memes, but Blatter, seriously.

Portugal > Czech (2-1)
España > France (in penalties)
Italia > England (1-0)
Germany > Greece (2-0)

So far it has been a very boring Euro, few goals, minimum spectacle. Sad about Ukraine leaving so soon, I liked those elvish bastards. I still remember Shevchenko in his prime time in AC Milan, good times.

Spain might not be at their best, but i don't think they'll need penalties to get past France.

Portugal 2-1 is spot-on. normally i'd bet 2-1 but our defence has been very leaky recently.

on an unrelated note, Drogba has confirmed he will be joining Anelka at some crappy-ass Chinese club. quel dommage.

Yep, the yellow ones are preparing themselves to rule the world, even football. 12 millions per seasons sound pretty good, probably I would do the same.

Given Spain's performance against Italy, where they needed luck and Balotelli's idiocy to scrape through with a draw, I think they'll sink without a trace against France's surprisingly strong and flowing attack. Sure, the French defense is a bit of a shambles, but holy shit, the offense is flowing like a greased cock in a Dundee teenager.

Btw, Bruce, update on my FM stories. Currently in my 4th season with an unedited, untouched, hardcore Aberdeen. 1st season, triple. 2nd season, triple, out of the CL in the first knockout round to Liverpool (though they went on to win it, so not that bothered). 3rd season, win the Champions league:
Final: Aberdeen 3 - 2 Lyons
Semifinal: Aberdeen 4 - 1 Porto (on aggregate)
Quarterfinal: Aberdeen 3 - 0 Inter (on aggregate)
First knockout round: Aberdeen 5 - 5 Marseille (on away goals)
Group stages: 1st Liverpool, 2nd Aberdeen, 3rd Paris Saint Germain, 4th Kobenhavn.

Today, I just beat Leverkusen 2 - 1 on aggregate in the first knockout round of the CL. I've come first in the SPL the past three seasons and am at a 25 point ahead for this season. My squad, accumulated with prize money over three years, is as this. The money number is the player's current value. You'll notice I play 4 defenders, 1 DM, 2 MC, and 3 strikers. Works a treat.

GK: 1st, Miguel Angel Moya, 1.2M£ , released from Valencia on a free transfer. 2nd, Niki Mäenpää, released from AZ Alkmaar on a free transfer, 325K£. 3rd, 19 year old hot prospect regen Ally Burns, signed from Hamilton, 220K£.

DL: 1st Clark Robertson, Aberdeen regular, 325K£ (looking to find a replacement). 2nd, Dominik Prötsch, free transfer from Salzburg, 30K£ (need to replace him too).

DR: 1st, Kai Schwertfeger, bought from Roda JC, 925K£. 2nd, Carl Jenkinson, on loan from Arsenal, 600K£.

DCL: 1st, Tomas Kalas, bought from Chelsea reserves, 1.7M£. 2nd, Frederic Veseli, free transfer from Man Utd reserves, 70K£-

DCR: 1st, regen Christopher Ulrich, bought from Zürich U21s, 1.1M£. 2nd, Kyle Bartley, loan from Arsenal, 575K£.

DM: 1st, Jonathan dos Santos, free transfer from Barcelona, 2.3M£. 2nd, Blerim Dzemaili, bought from Napoli, 2.5M£.

CM: On Rotation (in order of talent): Daniele Dessena, free transfer from Sampdoria, 2.3M£. Blerim Dzemaili (see above). Abdi Ibrahim, free transfer from Man City, 2.1M£. Fraser Fyvie, Aberdeen regular, 1.4M£. Abdul Razak, free transfer from Man City, 700K£. Jake Forster-Caskey, free transfer from Brighton, 900K£ (hot future prospect though, a friend of mine's been playing with Bayern for a while and he says he becomes as good as Schweinsteiger in midfield so, fingers crossed).

STL: Neil Smyth, Northern-Irish regen 20 years old, looks very promising. Free transfer from Linfield. 1.2M£.
STC: Alessandro Diamanti, old chap to give experience and style to the youngsters. Free transfer from Brescia, 925K£
STR: The star of my team. Jaroslav Blazek, 20 year old Czech regen, scored 46 goals in 48 appearances, average rating of 7.88, scored 25% of attempted shots, scored 51% of shots on target. Free transfer from Branik Ostrava, had him for a year, and his value went from 2K£ to 2.1M£ after a season with Aberdeen in the CL and training like an asshole. He scores every. single. game.

So that's me. Signed Löic Nego for next season to give me some cover on the wings (he plays right, but Schwertfeger can easily swap to left, no bother) and am still looking for some good defenders to give my young'uns some experience to lean on.

Average age of squad: 22.96

I impress even myself.

Have you reloaded? Because that's cheating too :P
Congrats though, that's nicely done! What tactics do you use? "Aberdeen - Lyon" for a CL final, now that made me laugh

My quarter finals predictions:

Por - Cze : 3 - 0
Ger - Gre : 2 - 0
Fra - Spa : 1 - 8,000,000
Eng - Ita : Penalty shootouts.

Final: Ger - Spa
Winner: I don't know.

I've infrequently reloaded when the game gives you the finger and I lose a vital league point to fucking Inverness or something, despite having like 20 shots on target to their 2 (that both went in!!) and 70 possession. Use 4-3-3, it breaks the game. Haven't lost to an Old Firm team in forever and I even beat Rangers 9-0 and one point.

Anyway, I'm pretty sure it's going to be a Germany - France final. Which will be awesome, the French will just run away again.

Look at those fucking stats, and for that age:

The last one is the star of the show, although it's how they can work together that's great. The first one, Smyth, isn't all that accurate or good at getting balls in the net, but he's fast as fuck and can outrun nearly anything, at least in the SPL. The other one, Blazek, has high strength and determination which means that even if the entire midfield and defense set up the goddamm Berlin wall in front of him he will break through and hammer the fucker in. Good off the ball skills as well to read the play and make himself available for Smyth's cross. Thompson just fucks about and does what he wants, I rarely play him with Smyth and Blazek.

Blazek is cute, I love her hair.

Seriously, it's when the game comes to the point there are only regens in that the fun is optimum. Blazek has very sexy attributes for a striker of his age.

Here's a challenge: make him win the Ballon d'Or! :D

He might get the CL top goalscorer, already at 7 and the top is 9, unless Messi scores 12 against Dortmund or something.

Insane stats at any rate, I hope you wont sell him under £70M.

Regarding real football, I can't wait for Por vs. Spa!
