Guardian says 60M, still affordable for the big oil clubs. Man City won't buy him because it's too much to spend for the relatively small improvement he'd be over Higuain, and PSG probably have too small a reputation for someone like Falcao. Apparently, back in 2008, he was in talks with Arsenal. Now that would have been something.
Not sure what you're talking about. Higuain's still a Real Madrid player last time I checked. And if PSG can convince global stars like Ibra and Thiago Silva to come, surely Falcao wouldn't be too high profile to sign either.
Sorry, not Higuain. The other Argentinian, Aguero. Ibra and Thiago want to win in Europe. Falcao's already done so, and if he's already a star in Spain he won't want to go to France when he's killing in La Liga and could potentially go play in the EPL or the Bundesliga instead.
Yeah, but there's a big difference in prestige between winning the Europa Leauge, like Falcao's already done, and coming to a club with ambitions to win the CL. EL is pretty much the champions leauges loser's longue I'd reckon.
Sure, the french leauge might not be the most compelling choice, but I'd say the money on offer makes up for that. Footballer's these days often goes for the highest salary.
So I'd put PSG as one of five clubs, together with Barcelona, ManC, Chelsea and Bayern Münich as most likely to sign him up.
Manchester City have proven before that they're not too concerned about having a shitload of expensive strikers, and Mancini's already complained this summer about the lack of quality signings.
If Torres has another lackluster season Chelsea is probable. Barcelona would probably think twice before paying that kind of money since their Ibraproject kind of failed, and they already have a strong attacking line.
Bayern Münich is probably the only german club that would be tempting, other german clubs have neither the ambitions or the money to be a realistic option.
Come to think of it, PSG along with Chelsea is probably the club that'd need him the most, and therefore the most likely to splash out the money required. You're right about france being less attractive for a big player than the EPL though.
Either way he'll surely have to leave Atletico at some point, he'll win neither the leauge nor the CL if he stays.
