Two reasons.

1) Out of the several (pun intended) promos that I received last month, this was one of the few that the label PR side specifically asked if I could put out there in terms of reviews. No matter what the actual opinion would be (as one can see, hardly favourable in the end). So I did.

2) I have been long dedicated to putting out at least one CotM-review per year (have not been successful at this during my MR-tenure) and thus far 2012 has been a very, very good year. Then I listened to a few seconds of this and ooooooh my, the scale was balanced.

1) Ah, that makes sense. Fair enough.

2) Yeah, I actually had a feeling that I should review some really bad albums too, so I grabbed few random promos I thought might fit the bill. Unfortunately (or fortunately!) they all turned out to be at least decent.

I never want to search for a bad album specifically to write a cotm review. I, for example, had high hopes with the new Tygers of Pan Tang...

Well, you know, I wasn't going to keep listening to promos until I found a shit one or anything like that....I just thought if I happened to find one it might be a fun change of pace.

Just to be clear in case, my point wasn't being hell bent and scouring through piles of promos for something bad. Moreso just that when I go through promos normally and a truly bad one happens to end before me, I then make damn sure that I review it to fill my annual quota. So echoing your sentiment above, Oz-man :cool:
