It's fight week! Picks?

I got Silva, Noguiera, Texeira, Maia, Davis, Silva.

Silva, Noguiera, Teixeira and Davis all feel like pretty safe bets. Gonna put some money down on that combo. Won't be a great return but I can feel relatively confident in winning.

If I had to pick the other fights I'd go with Fitch (though I'd loooooove to be wrong here) and Story.

So only 1 person has picks? Why is nobody paying attention to this card? It is so stacked it is not even funny.

Nobody has ever done anything even remotely similar to Stephan Bonnar as Anderson Silva did last night. Awesome night of fights, only 1 fight went the distance and that fight got FOTN honors. And of course, Silva is now 16-0 in the UFC, 3-0 as a light heavyweight with all 3 fights ending with 1st round T/KO. I so badly want to see "The Spider" knock-out "Bones". Please make it happen uncle Dana.

I'm guessing he devastated him. I opted for a lady over the fights.

He didn't devastate, he made him look like an amateur. Like Bonnar has never fought in the UFC before. Bonnar has fought a 3 round war with Jon Jones yet couldn't do a thing to Silva. And of all ways to end it, Silva finishes it with a knee to the chest. He is hands down the best ever. He needs to fight Jones before 2013 is over. There's nobody left.

Great night of fights, tremendous main card. Erick Silva lost which was too bad but he put up a great fight against Fitch which is nothing to scoff at.

And I made some money!

It's fight week!

Saturday morning at 9 am. Rich Franklin vs. Cung Le headline. Not the strongest card ever, but it's free.

Picks?

I got Franklin, Silva, Kim, Bruce Leeroy, Danzig and Zhang.

I think Franklin, Silva and Kim are pretty solid picks. Gomi is always a bit of a wildcard, I'm hoping he wins. I don't really know enough about the opponents of Leroy and Zhang to pick a winner.

Live from China. That's what my local listings say, and I'm pretty sure we are same time zone. I'm also pretty sure there will be a replay at 8 or 9 pm as well.

We don't have t worry about Fox or FX or Fuel TV here, all UFC stuff besides PPV, is on one channel. Every free card, episode of the Ultimate Fighter, Primetime shows, etc.. all on one channel. Too easy.

Aldo-Edgar? Will be the biggest of the "little guy" fights yet. Edgar wins, he joins Randy Couture and BJ Penn as the only multi-divisional champs in UFC history. Not a bad group.

But I know nothing about Aldo...

3 interesting points about Aldo:

1) if he was a middleweight (185 lbs) Anderson Silva said he'd retire so he wouldnt have to fight Aldo.

2) 21-1 record, 'nuff said

3) he defended his WEC Featherweight title 3 times and his UFC title 3 times. And he's the only featherweight champion in UFC history.

Look up any of Aldo's past fights, UFC or not, he's a beast. If he was 25-40 lbs heavier, he'd be a top 5 pay per view buy.

Anybody else see Le knock Franklin out cold? Pretty brutal stuff.

Silva-Nedkov had a tough scrap, Silva using knees and kicks to the legs quite effectively before pulling off the nice arm triangle in the 3rd.

And what about Dong Hyun Kim? That was impressive. One sided beat down for sure, but Thaigo definitely made it interesting at some points.

Lastly, Mizugaki crushed Hougland. Those elbows were brutal.

Gomi-Danzig was a good, but pointless scrap.

Jon Tuck looks to have a bright future, but still has a lot to learn.

But more importantly, in less than a week is UFC 154 and the return of GSP. I just re-watched his re-match with Matt Serra, it's beautiful.

been a long, long time since I've watched UFC, last time I watched it Ortiz and Couture were still fighting, Ortiz always was a favourite of mine, if the fights are still that good maybe I'll have something besides Muay Thai to satiate my bloodlust
