I love seeing the guy who runs his mouth get beat down so think I'll watch that one if I'm home at the time otherwise may have to record it

man I have missed so much of what's been happening in the UFC I only recognise a handful of current names like GSP, Anderson Silva um actually I think that's pretty much it

It's a good start-off point if you wanna get back into it. The lightweight champ, two promising young guys in MacDonald and Gustafsson, two legends in Shogun and BJ Penn... They're all high profile fighters.

I saw Penn's fight from UFC 127 (don't quote me on the seven it was a "classic card" thing on Fuel) haven't seen any of the other dudes fights though

suppose the big question in the UFC is who will be Anderson Silva's next victim

and how long will the TKO take...

Anderson only fights once or twice a year so it will be a while. I know the UFC wants GSP to fight him which would probably be the biggest fight in MMA history. We'll see if it happens, GSP doesn't seem very enthustiastic about it. If not, Anderson could fight Michael Bisping or Chris Weidman. Still, I wouldn't expect much before the start of spring.

I personally want to see Belfort get another crack at Silva. He won't get caught with a front kick again (you'd like to hope) and he did hit Silva a couple times early on. I think he'd have something to prove in a rematch, and if fight went to the ground imagine how beautiful it would be to watch two black belts out jiu-jitsu each other. Silva would still win, but it would be a much better fight methinks. Vitor needs to beat Bisping first.

Bisping also claims that he is the unofficial Strikeforce Middleweight Champion, says he sparred with Luke Rockhold and said "...let's jus say I'm the new Strikeforce middleweight champion."

Bisping is a funny guy and doesn't deserve the hate he gets. Would still get schooled by The Spider.

It doesn't mean I don't want to see him try.

Needs to beat The Phenom first. Which I don't think he will.

Even when he loses he knocks his opponents out.

Look up his first fight against Yushin Okami. It's ridiculous.

Interim UFC Bantamweight Champion Renan Barao will defend his title for the first time against Michael McDonald sometime in early 2013. McDonald has not fought in a year, but is 4-0 in the UFC and coming off a huge first round KO of former WEC Bantamweight champ Miguel Torres. Barao himself is riding a 29 fight win streak, which is unheard of nowadays.

This is happeneing because UFC Bantamweight Champion Dominic "The Dominator" Cruz will need a second surgery to repair his torn ACL after the first attempt didn't take. He will be out at least another 9 months.

Stefan Struve will finally fight Mark Hunt at UFC on Fuel TV 8. They were suppose to fight at UFC 146 but Hunt got hurt and hasn't been heard from since, until now. Struve has defeated Lavar Johnson (first round armbar) and Stipe Miocic (2nd round TKO) since. Struve pulls this off I'd say he's a top 10 heavyweight. Hunt wins, he's 4-1 in the UFC. Pretty big fight for the middle tier guys.

Struve is a badass. He's got it in the bag. Sadly, I don't have Fuel... Maybe I'll be around a bw3s at that point.

Do enough people here know the divisions to make their own personal top 10 or top 5 maybe? Break it down by weight class. Would be cool to know where everybody ranks the top fighters.

I could give it a go.. I won't be able to name 10 in the new weight classes, probably only a couple. And I don't have a very good eye for talent outside of the UFC, so my picks will generally be UFC or ex-UFC fighters.

Let's just keep it in th UFC and try for 5 per weight class. Keep it simple. If you can only think of 3, so be it.

Forrest Griffin hurt, tore his ACL and MCL, out of his fight with Phil Davis at UFC 155. And will probably be out the majority of 2013.
