Reports today are that the NHLPA does not like the new offer tabled on Tuesday, they meet again on Thursday.

Tuesday's proposal was pretty much a genius move by the NHL. The ball is squarely in the NHLPA's court now; if there is no season by November 2, they will suddenly look like the villains in this conflict.

If the issue is the revenue share, yes. But there's much more that that in the proposal, and a lot that can be disagreed with...

... if you're a greedy son of a bitch.

Tomorrow is the deadline if we want a full 82 game schedule. I'm not holding my breath.

Another wasted Saturday night.

Literally. I'm wasted.

Man, had the Kings not won the cup I would have been on suicide watch by now. When I'm starting to feel antsy I just remind myself that I got to watch my team play longer (in some cases way longer, sorry Walnuts) than fans of other teams did and the celebration and euphoria had me watching hockey clips and compilations for like an additional month. So I have it relatively easy.

I've been re-watching the cup run and am right in the middle of round 2 against the Blues by now. It's quenching my thirst, for now. But man I'd love to see a new NHL season real soon, I definitely miss the thrill of live NHL hockey, even if it's only through a monitor.

Sounds like they're gonna have some owners meet with some players and see what comes of it. I gotta say I really doubt that goes anywhere. My guess is that it leads to nothing and we get another good month of no real communication, followed by some dumb compromise from one side that the other will scoff at, which ultimately leads to the cancellation of the season. I hope I'm wrong but it's hard to be optimistic right now.

I personally don't think there will be a season this year. The players are too greedy and the NHL is too much of an ass for them to meet anywhere.

And that my friends is MMA taking over for my go to sport. It's a sad day in Canada.

The NHL will not go ahead this season IMO, they are all a bunch of money grabbing c*nts.
I do side more with the players only because I can't stand Bettman.

No OHL or AHL over here in the UK but I do go every weekend to watch my local team and play every Saturday night.
Watched a few KHL games but it's no good without the NHL running it.
Heard Daren Pang say the other day "I'm not going to tell you anything about these teams because apart from our NHL guys, I don't know anybody" Lol

The fact that I can't, for the life of me, think of who that other defence men we drafted name is. It was a big deal too cause he was suppose to be first round but fell to us in the second.

I know I could just look it up, but I usually remember shit like that.

NHL team Sabres for no other reason than when I got into hockey Miro was playing there. Must be so cool signing as Mr Satan. :-)
UK team Manchester Phoenix, it's low level hockey but it's my local team.
Our coach, Tony Hand, was the first British-raised player to be drafted by an NHL team when he was picked by the Edmonton Oilers in 1986. We also have an exNHLer playing now, well just an NHLer, Robert Schnabel.
The team is mainly young Brits with a few imports, league rules say only 4.

The NHLPA is no longer going to be representing the players. Now every player represents himself and are planning on suing the league. The players can get up to triple their expected salaries if the courts see fit. The NBA did that and their lockout ended 12 days later.
