I think Silva would be keen to move up a weight class and see how he goes, he'd probably be a little less effective, seems to bee guys who move up have a harder time then the guys who cut weight

BJ needs to retire like Wally said. And I kinda don't like how MacDonald can be so big and cut down for Welterweight. I'd be curious to see how GSP looks standing toe to toe with him. Maybe Penn's size made the guy look bigger, but he just looked huge.

And Henderson is so strong for his weight class. I love the guy.

GSP cuts weight, Bendo cuts weight, Jones cuts weight, Overeem cuts weight, Aldo cuts weight, Faber cuts weight, etc, etc..

Weight cutting is in every division, Penn is just too stubborn to cut to lightweight.

I'll say it again, he's already fought 3 times at 205. All first round knockouts, and one was against a former light heavyweight champion. Sure, none of them are even close to the level of Jon Jones, but he's still ran through everybody at 205 that he's fought. If his next fight at light heavy is not vs. Jones, I at least want to see him fight a top 5-10 guy. Rashad Evans, Gustafsson, Rampage, Teixeira, etc.. Shogun or Machida will never happen.

Josh Koscheck now wants Rory MacDonald.

That would be a good one for MacDonald to lay the smackdown. Shut up the critics.

I was just basing that on what the commentators were saying, I got the impression that they think guys generally struggle moving up weight classes but then Silva being so dominant and so powerful for his weight I think Silva would do very well

I'd like to see that. That or Hendricks and his beard. I'd be down for Hendricks, while GSP whoops up on Diaz. Then Hendricks-GSP hopefully.

Other names being "thrown around" are Nate Marquardt, Jake Ellenberger, and obviously the Condit rematch. All good fights for MacDonald next. I don't see Rory Mac and Big Rig anytime soon, UFC doesn't want to lose a contender. One will have to become champion for them to fight.

Nice. I don't expect much from Diaz. Am I wrong?

if he fights like Nate did then no don't expect anything other then GSP to smash him, the Macdonald v Condit fight sounds promising though

Diaz has very very good jiu-jitsu, so he'll definitely threaten with lots of submissions off his back. His boxing is also very good, and he sets a relentless pace. But so does GSP. I see St-Pierre starting with striking and mixing in take downs to confuse Diaz and just smother and pound him out en route to a decision. Nicks a tough dude and won't quit, but his bark will be much worse than his bite.

Anderson Silva open to fighting Michael Bisping if he can defeat Vitor Belfort, but The Spider doesn't think The Count can beat The Phenom.

doesn't the spider get bored with first round TKOs? Silva needs to go up a weight class and look for (but probably not find) a challenge

If Nate good have utilized jiu-jitsu better he would have but Benson on the ropes a little more. He had the opportunities. And then with GSP striving for the wrestling that should be really good.

His jiu-jitsu wasn't the problem, it was the low leg kicks; they neutralized his boxing. Plus Henderson was able to stay cool and not get caught, that too. I was very surprisd to see Nate get dominated so badly, he usually delivers.
Not to discredit Henderson, he's a great fighter from the little I've seen.
Don't count Nate out just yet, though if we are talking about GSP, that's another wresler, and they seem to be a bad match-up for him
I gotta get back into this stuff, been too long since I've followed MMA.

Nates older bigger brother Nick is fighting GSP.

I think Nate should drop to 145, he'd be a monster in that division.

haha, shows how long it's been since I've followed the sport; last I remember Nick was in SF.
Man, I need to catch up.

Ha wow. It's been a while.

Strikeforce has one event planned for January 3rd and they will cease to exist after that. All the top guys left will be in the UFC and everybody else will need to start looking for a new job. I'm sure Bellator cant wait to pick up the scraps.
