Easy picks this weekend: Velasquez, Dos Santos, Teixeira, Maynard, Cerrone

I agree, I just want TJ Grant to beat Maynard.

Velasquez - Silva was going to be a joke from the get-go. Kinda glad Dos Santos fucked up Hunt. No idea why he didn't take it to the ground.

He wanted to knockout a guy considered to be un-knockoutable. It was an amazing card, with at least 3 blood baths. The Jeremy Stephens-Estevan Payan fight was absolutely brutal. And to see Grant knockout Maynard like that was a thing of beauty. I like Bendo, but hopefully Grant can beat him so we can have another Canadian champ.

Antonio Rogerio Nogueira has a herniated disc in his back and has withdrawn from his rematch with former champ Mauricio "Shogun" Rua. Now Chael Sonnen has stepped in on short notice to fight Shogun. They will meet in the co-main event of UFC 161 in just under two weeks time. This is the second injury to hit this card, as interim bantamweight champion Renan Barao was suppose to defend his title for a 2nd time against former WEC champ Eddie Wineland. This is also the second "smaller" card in Canada, last being UFC 149 in Calgary, that has been hit hard by injuries.

Also, former light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida will fight Phil Davis at UFC 163 in August in Brazil. Most likely paving the way for Alexander Gustaffsson to fight Jones. Or Jones' toe injury is worse off than expected.

Now Sonnen vs. Shogun isn't happening. Visa issues for the Gangster from West Lynn.

They'll now headline the terribly named UFC on Fox Sports 1 1 card. Also on the card, Alistair Overeem vs Travis Browne, Thiago Alves vs Matt Brown, Urijah Faber vs Yuri Alcantara, Uriah Hall vs Nick Ring, Joe Lauzon vs Michael Johnson, Brad Pickett vs Michael McDonald, Mike Brown vs Akira Corissani.

UFC on Fox Sports 1 2 will be headlined by a Carlos Condit vs Martin Kampmann rematch. Kampmann won their first fight, which was Condits UFC debut.

I've been trying to catch up on my UFC but I'm still so far behind I have no clue what's happening. Been watching some of the classic cards series on Fuel TV, Silva vs Franklin I, I'd forgotten all about that fight.

What a night of fights. Ignored because lack of "big names".

Good stuff, if you wanna watch a bunch of first round stoppages go watch that card.

I got Rashad by decision (want Hendo, think Rashad), Nelson by KO, Jimmo by TKO, Davis (just cause I don't know enough about Sexton), Jordan by TKO (his grappling is too much for HD, just needs to watch out for those leg kicks).

I'm thinking Hendo spends most of the fight on his back, giving Rashad the victory. Big Country gets the KO. Barry gets ground and pounded unfortunately. Aaaaaaand probably Jimmo. So we seem to basically agree. Gonna have to pass on guessing on the ladies, I know nothing about 'em.

Also, Gustafsson vs Jones in Toronto, fuck yeah. I don't think anyone can touch Jones right now unforunately, but I'm gonna hope for the best.

Anthony Pettis injured, out of his title fight with Jose Aldo at UFC 163. The Korean Zombie Chan Sung Jung will pull out of his fight with Ricardo The Bully Lamas and fight Aldo for the title. Sucks that there's no Aldo-Pettis, but Aldo-Jung will be good too. Sucks for the Zombie that his first fight in over a year is against a beast like Aldo.

So the biggest fight of the year is only just over a week away. Nobody has anything to say?

All the hype videos are a who's-who of UFC fighters saying that Weidman is the guy who will dethrone Silva. Silva is saying he's never trained harder for a fight than this one. Epic main event on our hands?
