And I don't think they're bad at playing this more rock/heavy metal style. My favorite album by them is Youthanasia. Nothing thrashy about that one and it's brilliant. Countdown to Extinction and Cryptic Writings are also quite good.
I also agree with this one!
In fact any good Thrash band has generally mixed some straight heavy metal into the mix e.g. Overkill, Artillery, even Kreator in later days.
