At least there's one band we can count on to not turn all Ozzfest Metalcore on us.

I'm gonna pick this one up as soon as possible. :)

I started listening to the new Nevermore lately, not being a really big Nevermore fan, i've only heard Dreaming Neon Black from then and i couldn't get into that one at all. So basically this is an album that grows on you with several spins, depending on mood, not too many catchy stuff on it, i guess thats Nevermore for you, but after the 3rd spin, the songs start to sink in. Born is a killer tune, whoa that chorus, nice, this is some heavy as shit compositions in this one. Fav so far are Born, My Acid Words, Sentient 6, Sell my Heart for Stones, and A Future Uncertain. This is definately top 5 so far this year.

I have given it about 3 listens since picking it up yesterday.

This is my first experience with Nevermore and Im very impressed. Looks like the back catalogue bonaza is needed.

Great album, great review.

This album was good, there were a few weak points (mostly in the vocals, his growls are not so great and in a few points his clean vocals got annoying) but I agree, it is one of the best albums this year. And probably the best from the US (Kamelot's The Black Halo is good too, but the two are hard to compare :P)

Well if you like most of this album, then just go buy it. The band could use the support for sure, and it seems like you can't go wrong with it. I've been trying to get over to someplace that might have it for awhile now, but I can't seem to do it..

Century Media's selling it for $10 plus $2 shipping (if you live in the US). I think the highest the shipping price goes is still only $4. So we're talking $12-$14 total. Can't beat that.

Good deal. I might as well, seeing as how I have a few other cd's I need anyway.

My God. After many spins, I can say with a clean conscience that this album is only slightly beat out by "Dead Heart In A Dead World"* for their best album yet. It's incredible.

*The reason being that a couple songs sound very similar to ones on past albums. "Sell My Heart For Stones" could possible be called "The Heart Collector pt. 2", but "Sell My Heart For Stones" is one of the best songs on the album, so I'm not complaining.

Just got this album. After one listen, it has easily catapulted itself into contention for the best CD I've bought this year.

What don't you like about the single? I assume you mean "The Final Product". The album, to me, is a melting pot of styles, so I guess it would depend on your reason(s) for disliking that song.

I never really got around to listening to Nevermore in the past, but something told me to buy this album when I saw it for 10 bucks at the store. After a few listens, I really didn't give it a chance. After about 3 listens, I make this my album of the year. There's just so much going on during the whole album. I'm in total awe during the whole recording. My fav would definitely have to be the closer. The title track is just so awesome, it actually gave me chills when I heard that last solo. It was that good. After loving this album so much, I went out and bought DNB. I think TGE is a slightly better album as far as the riffs and overall technicality. One thing that I noticed though was the fact that in DNB, i heard some Halford-esqe screams that I didn't hear in TGE. Overall, this is my album of the year. Other notable mentions are Kreator and Opeth.

This album gives your cerebral senses a swift kick in the ass.One of the best new releases this year by far next to Kamelot's TBH album.

for me, it would have to be the best Cd I've bought in the past 2 years, besides Ghost Reveries, but that's for another forum. What's great about Nevermore is they don't need a growling grunty singer or breakdowns in order to sound heavy. In fact it is safe to say that they are heavier than any metalcore band, and they have riffs which weren't out of the 80's and stuck on hardcore. This band should be absolutely enormous, and I think now they are starting to gain some mainstream appeal. Still, the metal press (Magazines that is) seem to have mostly ignored them to chase the latest RR sensation of the week.

Hey that's fine by me more for us to listen and enjoy besides the last thing I want is some damn punk mallcore slackers jumping on Nevermore's bandwagon and start spouting off saying shit like THE COOLEST METALCORE I HAVE EVER HEARD and THESE GUYS ROCK LIKE SLIPKNOT.

Oh geez parish the thought :o
