A spectacular of death, doom and vast landscapes of barrenness and gloom. This kind of music is an apprehension of sounds and melodies that are not easily, and readily, classifiable by any immediate standard genre categories. The same goes for Chapel of Disease. One of is of inner divinity, the other of inner horror. But we practice the categories of genres, for as long as our rational faculties allow us, and these two bands make experiential music and so does Urfaust.

Fond memories with this recording but also an outstanding piece of Swedish metal and the very first album added to my then newly-built collection. Oh how the times change and are gone.
