A match made in Valhalla. The follow-up is even better.

A model of consistency. The gods of the underworld are pleased. Hopefully, there's a tour stop in my neck of the woods.

I have not heard the follow-up in the longest time, at least since it was released, but yes, the debut is spectacular, which I play on occasion.

Will be listening to the new Nile sometime, late afternoon.

Heavy Bolt Thrower influence with this band. Very mosh friendly.

Young band with a female bassist. Interesting. They do look like they know what they're doing, despite their youth.

Nile have certainly poured a great deal of effort in writing this album. However, I do think that, if the production held more weight, which is to say, if instruments had more room to breath, where the dynamics, would play with a certain degree of felt mastery, the album would have completely left a different impression on the listener. The production suffers from a lack of depth, and the richness, which complex DM machinery needs to be more enriched, the skillfulness behind the kit, and the axe, more evidentiary. The art work in the inner sleeve is remarkable, and shows the broadness of ambition of Nile, this far into a musical career. A few more leads, just a few more breaks, and some more interludes, would have also made the album more substantial, which is to say, the song-writing suffers on a few instances, on a few noticeable occasions.

Well, Nile gave us something akin to some kind of underworld, but Borknagar certainly does give us something heavenly.

If you like Bolt thrower you're going to really like Frozen Soul considering they're heavily influenced by them. Definitely a little slower than Bolt thrower though and without the punk roots that made Bolt thrower play at a faster tempo

I did have this album! In my Wardruna folder. Must have automatively organized it elsewhere, since they have shared artistry. Anyhow, shall be listening enthusiastically to this recording!

You know, with these Norwegian masters, you do become convinced that they sleep with eternity with some of these compositions.
