Oh have the times changed so immensely. Only certain social realities and certain people and cultures produce this sort of music.

Gentle Giant produced some of the most jarring and the most sophisticated progressive rock albums, even amongst bands such as Yes, whom no one comes close. But Gentle Giant, were as good as Yes. And, comparisons, can be easily made, when relativizing progressive music, from the 70's, regardless of the difficulties of that task, at least, in terms of the musician's caliber, and their versality for creating structures, compositions, and sensible complexities, not needless ones, but for the purpose of greater art and for the love of the finer things in life.
