Oh God, it starts. Dimebag dies and suddenly his second rate retard metal band is elevated into "Classic" Status. Please, Dimebag was an excellent guitarist who wasted his time playing shitty aggro riffs for Phil Anselmo who couldnt sing to save Dimebag's life. Leave this band out of the classics section and devote it more towards Cirith Ungol who has been so abashedly left out of this section that I again question the knowledge behind it. Instead of Pantera in the classics section why dont you guys review Frost and Fire, or One Foot In Hell, both heavier and awesomer than any of the retard mosh shit that pantera released.

-P.S.
Fuck you

I've heard Cirith Ungol, and well I can totally appreciate the old school D&D covers, I just couldn't get past the singer who sounds like he was dying of throat cancer. Perhaps I need a few more listens or perhaps a few more cigarettes.

He's either a love em or hate em type singer, but he totally helps them be more original than say Pantera. So yeah maybe a few more listens will make your like him more....or totally hate him. I personally think he sounds like a mad raven cawing from some forsaken perch. So thats just me, if you give him a chance he's got some great one liners. And he makes some of the songs 10X heavier than they would be with a clean vocalist. Great Doom band. I do suggest giving them another spin. One Foot in Hell would be my choice out of the three good albums.

Sorry Husker but I dont think Pantera was much in the metal world. They played half assed thrash riffs and had some stupid heroin junkie blowing out his voice over them. Thats a recipe for crap and deserves no place in the classics.

One award they might win: first band to name themselves after a Tolkien place name

Many seem to think you're wrong.

Bleh.. Cowboys From Hell kicks this one's ass. Some of their worst songs are on this album, like Walk (what a shitty, repetitive riff) and This Love (what a terrible chorus.. THIS! (Pause) LOVE! (Pause). Mouth For War is pretty good though.

Ya, you're right, its terrible when people have different opinions. Reviews would be so much better if everyone thought the same thing.

I agree. I think every forum needs a little flaming and/or stupidity. It gets people thinking.

Within reason.
