You're so negative! :P Seriously, have always enjoyed Necrophobic (well, their album last year was a step down, perhaps due to In Aphelion getting the songwriting focus) but they've been a pretty solid melodic black metal band throughout their career.

Well. :D I will say that they do sound enormous. I remember loving Hrimthursum. I will re-listen to them and try their later releases.

Reconsiderations in procedure.

Much more liked than the previous recording I was listening to. I think I have only heard Sodom only a handful of times in the past 23 years, but I do love what I'm hearing now. Remastered.

Sodom is a great band. I don't listen to them enough. The self-titled from 2006 was definitely one of my favorites from an old school thrash band that's still going.

Indeed. I have not been able to get a hold of their early releases but I did have them a long time but I did not listen to them, due their unmelodic nature. Their music is full of passion and conviction. How do you like all the King Diamond you're listening to?

Excellent! Andy LaRocque is a highly competent axeman. And so is Michael Denner.

It is the witching hour. This is classic heavy metal. But the orientation and the overall sound produced, is rather extreme. This debut is quite seductive. It lures you in.

I'd say King Diamond, as a group of musicians, are pivotal to the significant reputation of heavy music, for its dominant melodicism, its tempering to musical dynamism in all its complex aspects, in good-taste heaviness, and narratives, which are both ludicrous, and captivating, and King's vocals, that are at the kernel of metal's essential extremity, serious-not-so-serious demeanor.

Further explorations of this release. Many times it does sound like a Swedish counterpart of a band such as Venom, which is welcome. I will say that band does sound completely ruthless, but very loose and fluid. The ideas are very simple but quite well-executed, if a bit short and unsatisfying.

A passionate suite, with marvelous symphonics, and greatly noticeable melodic undertones, supported by a throbbing bass, and a pounding, but precise drum-work, screeching vocalizations, and the cover art, to give essence to it all.

The distance sound of the witch's bell are drawing closer.
