Certainly the impression of a proper conceptual album, with thought-provoking arrangements, and a highly detailed attention given to every evolution of the tracks progressing, with equal attention given to the musical evolutions, throughout. Many elements at play.

Gigantic.

Extremely underrated, is early Hypocrisy. Fine stuff.

From its darkly-lyrical themes, to its rhythmical sections which are fiery as the fire ablaze, to those anthemic leads that glow in the darkest of glares, to the pounding drums, that leaves one's hands brutalized and brittle, to the smashing bass lines that disallows anyone from breathing easily, this release can never have an equal, by any standards, or by any other band, contemporary of the time, or otherwise.

The bonus DVD with King telling the story of the Puppet Master was the big selling point for me. Ghoulish good fun. Would be wonderful to have performances like this for Abigail and Them. Eat your heart out, Vincent Price.

Yes, his wife has some singing duties with whom he now has a son. Although I have not seen the DVD, I can certainly imagine the strengthening of interest in the band itself.

Wonderful indeed. King Diamond was in town about month ago. I did not ago. For one, there was no one to go with, for another, I do not spend that kind of money on concerts anymore, like the innumerous times in the past which I have gone. And, for third, all the unpleasant people, at these metal shows, is something that I simply cannot tolerate any longer, unfortunately. I really wanted to go, but then, I convinced myself not to go. Far too late in the night.

Metallica trimmed down and buffed up.

A very different band in the early 90's where transition of sound was taking place, enduring about a decade, to fully mature and flourish. Yet still, the recognizable Maiden melodies, and the high-spiritedness, is ever so present.

Nearing its end


Well, I must say that, Maiden must have endured a great deal of criticism in the 90's, with releases such as this, the previous one I was playing, and the two albums which came after the current release. Nevertheless, there is still plenty of melodic creativity, substantial, and real heaviness, to be found on this output.

Seldom played but always enjoyed.
