Straight-edged Thrash/Groove/Heavy with oomph. It is so well-produced that it is startling which is the case with latter day Overkill.

Only heard the first 30 seconds not to ruin the newness of the release and it very much sounded like Apostasy, laser sharp, sledgehammer heaviness, Behemoth. Definitely needed the stamp of approval of both of you to be able to safely acquire it now.

Nile as practitioners of Zyklon-potency-force-DM never had any ancestors, and never inherited their stylized brand of Death Metal, from any other band. The sheer level of devastating prowess behind the unit is unsummonable, within any other subgenre of metal, released then, and rarely, nowadays, has an equal, perhaps, only certain doom/death modern bands, from the US, reaching their level of heaviness, such as Spectral Voice, and British-based Grave Miasma, but they are of a much slower disposition, and far more puttering. The involvement of the velocity of riffage made by a unit of four, the speediness of the drumming, the composure of the vocals, and non-generalizable quality of this album, but also the first two Nile releases, plus, what came before this, Shrines, standardized DM, for the foreseeable future.

A new release from one of the primary pioneers of progressive metal with a rich assortment of hues, musical-thematics, and a whole host of colourful melodicism, never exactly heard, to this intensity, on any other DT recordings, and manifested, on any other album of theirs, than on this album.
