Killswitch Engage - "Alive or Just Breathing"

Do you see that differently due to the metalcore outbreak, or is it the same as before for you? I find it kind of hard to listen to now.

lol ive been listening to killswitch ever since alive or just breathing came out, and to be honest with you i havnt heard a better metalcore release. I just started listening to it again yesterday, i like AOJB better the the end of heartache because the old vocalist Jesse Leach, had a more convincing voice, it had a sence of urgency to it. and i think he has a better singing voice. Dont get me wrong though i love the End Of Heartache, its just AOJB had songs that had 2 choruses (Rise Inside, my favorite song on the album) and it left you questioning the album title after the first listen. My fav song off of the new disc is When Darkness Falls, but yeah im not gonna lie this metalcore outbreak has def made me start to look for some good metalcore, i havnt really had success, so i decided to go back to good old killswitch engage :D . after listening to the lastest metalcore releases, you will find it very easy and pleasing to listen to.

I'm surprised you think so highly of Killswitch. I find them pretty mediocre myself. Have you heard anything by Trivium? They're one of the few metalcore bands I like, and they're very good.

yes i love trivium i have Acendency, and Ember to the Inferno, amazing stuff. another band that has some elements of clean vocals with metalcore is It Dies Today. Any band that can blend clean vocals with a destructive genre deserves attention lol

I hate to say it, but Trivium are pure mass-marketed crap. If listen to any metalcore now it's Lamb Of God, maybe some KsE and the experimental stuff. Most metalcore pssis me off, and Trivium are no exception. I want to kill that slimy little fuck Matt Heavey, the new frigging Metallica indeed. You can have them!

Lamb of God never impressed me, and I hated their re-release of Burn the Priest. Shitty production in an effort to be raw, but ended up as only shitty production. Trivium is really the only metalcore I can stand. That's one of the few things I don't like about Massachusetts. Terrible pizza and a surfeit of metalcore.

Don't you find the guy's voice annoying? I do. And the songs are all boring, they never go anywhere.

I've heard clips of them live, they sound even worse then. The guy doesn't bother singing most of the words, just revels in the fact that he is younger than me and yet more famous than I shall ever be. Damn, do I hate him and his pathetic little band!

I'm not a huge fan, I could certainly take or leave 'em. I saw them at NEMF this year and thought they were pretty good live.

I basically agree, minus the listening to KSE part, I effing hate them

Howard's material especially. Jessie Leach was passable.

Rage Against the Machine - The Battle of Los Angeles

Not their best but it's still fairly enjoyable.

No news on Zach's solo album, oh well. I quite like Rage Against the Machine too, but curse the nu-metal that followed..

np: Kraftwerk - The Man Machine

I know that some of you out there are Kraftwerk fans.. favourite albums?
