Frickin' amazing album. I picked up the Deluxe Edition not too long ago. The bonus track is awesome, and they even have a live video of Entrance. It's pretty cool.

What do we have here? Marduk's Heaven Shall Burn... , Emperor's In the Nightside Eclipse and Darkthrone's A Blaze... aren't classics (thx for not rating them 70-80) and Dimmu Borgir's Enthrone is!

No, it's a classic and a great album, but moderators, please tell me, is it so hard to give those three opuses, I mentioned already, Classic's Status??? :?

I attempted to CLASSIC Heaven Shall Burn... but nobody agreed that it was a Classic, so I settled for De Mysteriis.

Don't worry Desolate; I'll work on many BM classics soon; but right now I have to finish with all the important releases of this year; after I'm done I'll update the classics section with many MANY BM albums. To name some bands: Satyricon, Burzum, Darkthrone; Ulver; etc, etc.....

Actually, if one of us talked to Mike, I'm sure that he would comply with our wishes to make it a classic. All we'd need to do was change the rating and ask him to move it.

As for myself, I'm putting up some more Bathory, probably. Maybe some Burzum that Daniel doesn't get first, and definitely Live in Leipzig, the best thing that Mayhem ever released.

I agree. Although of course this is debatable, a great deal of people consider this THE definitive black metal classic. Whether true or not, I'm not the one to decide, but I do think it's more of a classic than Enthrone Darkness Triumphant here. Not to knock Dimmu.

I don't think so, look at the massive wave of new sounds that dimmu triggered here... INE had too, but less i guess...

One could argue that Dimmu was influenced by Emperor quite easily.

that's not a very strong influence but you have a point...
they deserve both to be classics anyways...

I love black metal. I love this album. That's all that I have to say. "In Death's Embrace" is my all time favorite Dimmu Borgir song and it did it for me. This IS a classic.

I second that. In Death's Embrace is also my all time favorite Dimmu Borgir song.

In Death's Embrace is certainly a good song. Call me crazy, but to me, Prudence's Fall is my favorite Dimmu song.

Prudence's Fall is another very good track. The only thing I don't like about that song is the ending. Dimmu Borgir should've just ended the song at 5:06. No need for the extra 50 seconds in my opinion.

To me, the ending is what made the track so great, and it makes a great transition for A Succubus In Rapture. Oh, well.

I can see why you liked that, did you write the lyrics for Women Of Dark Desires?
