Say what you will about this band but they are still hands down one of the best melodic power metal bands in existence right now.

You couldn't be more right. I don't care what people say about this band, they are a talented group of guys who play some kick ass metal. This EP will not dissapoint Edguy fans, as Marty said in his review. Nice review dude.

I can't believe why only Superheroes is going to appear on their next album. The weakest song on the EP imo.

I'm curious to hear this one. I've loved everything up through and including Mandrake, but I just didn't care for Hellfire. I liked couple of songs but overall the music just wasn't as engaging and there were too many silly songs.

Hey are you a fan of Xyxyxma or is it your band? The band is linked to Winterkaelte isn't it?

xyxyxma, i know for a fact you have not heard the album, you told me you didnt care for Edguy, i think the fact your willing to just criticize a band for the sake of it should have you banned from the site. We are all entitled to an opinion, and this is the place to express them. But for all you know this album kicks ass. I find it very sad and childish that you make such silly comments, and no on just this album. I hope you will take the rest of his comments with a pinch of salt. . (I know xyxyxma, btw)

Anyway, I gave the EP 94/100 no weak songs

Xyxyxma is my band. The other member (Alex) is also in Winterkaelte. Or was in... it's hard to keep track.

Seriously, I never heard music that weird, can you tell me something about the genre? I dig ambient but still I cannot even remotely understand what Xyxyxma is about...

I like this EP. The ballad sucks, but the rest is solid. Judas At The Opera is the best track, but it seems better suited to being on an EP than a full-length.

Yeah the music we made was quite odd. We didn't really have a specific genre in mind when it was done, we just wanted to be mangled and noisy basically. We might record some other stuff some time and it will be better/different than the stuff that's currently out. We were only 15 and 16 when we recorded it all so we were a bit naive and not too focused.

I don't understand what is "gay" about it. Edguy always get that label, but I just see a band who likes to right catchy uplifting music. I can understand people not liking it, but I don't understand what is gay about it.

The guy described their previous work as "sick," I wouldn't let it get to you. :P

Anyone who describes Edguy as "sick" has never heard Edguy.

Edguy is great. Call them gay, but I think they're pretty damn good songwriters.

Sick is a commonly used slang adjective in the States meaning "good".

because some of us miss the ultra catchy rock. I am a huge metal fan, even to old school and thrash bands that you like, however I was also a huge def leppard, Queen, Poison, etc fan from my youth and living in the states have been frustrated since the grunge period and the Hip-hop periods have phased out such good music. Music on the radio has not always been bad. This Ep fits the category. You being a historian "buff" should know this. This Ep is good, with quality songwriting, it may just not fit your "im a tough metal guy" aura that you live under. I have seen it before. Im sure you are not a fan of most 80s hard rock or AOR, and the newer Edguy is a combo of that and power metal now. I agree i prefer the Vain Glory/Theater of salvation era because it is far heavier, but it is still a good ep. Anyone that likes catchy songs will like this, even non metal peeps. I am still confused how you praise Tales and Mystery by nocturnal rites and yet hate everthing else catchy. I love that album too, but Geez the singers accent is horrendous at least Tobias can sing?

I hope I have answered your question to why? Tho I know you already know the answer

If I want catchy rock I'll listen to Boston....not Edguy, because Boston...unlike Edguy lacks that gay element.
