Beyond Abilities is an amazing album. I remember when I first heard it I was expecting recycled power metal, but found one of my favorite albums of the year instead.

Nice review Ian, I'll definitely be looking into this.

Agreed. It's the only album I have by them and it's definitely a great album. My friend and I found two copies at Nuggets for $2 a good while back, but I've not seen this new one or their first one around here. I really like the cover of "Alone" on Beyond Abilities.

" Have you ever wondered what would Children Of Bodom look like without Janne Warman?"

Yeah , well they would surely sound better without those silly nintendo-sounding solos=]

I think the crazy solos is what made Bodom so damn good!Im biased cos i play keyboard but i dont think i would like Bodom half as much without Janne! The new album is not as good as thier old stuff as Janne is toned down a bit without as many solos so without Janne it would be even worse, although i do still like the new album. I liked Warmen,s old albums so im sure this will also be good!!

Try Sinergy. Although that hinges on your tolerance for over-singing.
