War of the Worlds

Great, but why is it tagged as an action movie? I would definantly say sci-fi/suspense. Didn't realise how caught up I was in it until Tom Cruise veers out of the way of the woman with the baby, I found my self shouting "Plough the fuck through her! Foot down, dickhead!"

March of the Penguins. Even taken just as a scenic flick, it shits all over Baraka.

Surely will see it next week. I saw the trailer and fell in love with it. Never watched Baraka, btw.

Yep. Remember the golden rule, guys:

Kids in films = Bad

(Unless it's the freaky blind ginger kid from The Beyond)

Bwahaha, what's the beyond? A blind ginger kid is always a must see.

BR2 is lame.

I saw Pulp Fiction on TV again yesterday. Then I watched From Dusk Till Dawn on DVD.

I watched Pulp Fiction with my girlfriend last night (I watched fucking Spanglish for her, now she gets to watch Pulp Fiction). She has never seen it before, so I was pretty anxious to see her reaction. Turns out she liked it a lot.

Baraka is pretty good, kind of a cinematic summary of the planet set to music.

Let's see, I've watched a lot of movies recently by my standards.

Brothers Grimm

Good, not great. Considering Terry Gilliam directed it I wanted to see more of his influence, instead you get a good amount of his influence overshadowed by fucking Hollywood. Not a bad flick, though.

King Kong

Bad ass. It was too long fdr my friends though, it's like three one-hour movies, give or take. One hour set up before they get to the island, one hour on the island, one hour in NYC. Great flick, but friends wanted them to get on the island 10 minutes in and fuck all the storyline drama. Oh well. Excellent movie. And those islanders were the scariest black people I have ever seen! Holy shit.

Crash

I watched this yesterday. What an overrated fucking movie this was. Sure, it was good, but amazing? Pffft! It was all about stereotypes, I could have written that script in one day. It would have been better as a comedy.

Rob Roy is up next, I got it for Christmas. It'd better be good, NESS!!

Spirited Away

The way everyone was going on about it left a bitter taste in my mouth. It was a very artsy and good looking movie with a unique art style, but I couldn't get into the characters or what was going on at all. Everyone was saying "Oh my, the ending was so sad; it made me cry!" but it just left me thinking "WTF? Lame."

Metropolis is better.

It's a Lucio Fulci zombie film. Should only be about £6 on Vipco, from any high street retailer.

Probably money. I don't really care about that. QT's films are meant to be enjoyed more than anything else.

i think that scene went something like that, can't remember. totally killer.

anyways someone said "battle royale" - it's great! i especially liked that lighthouse scene, you know, with the whole "who did it??" thing. kinda like in the thing no one knows who.

i enver saw BR2, but i am yet to hear a positive comment on it.

I thought Metropolis was boring and uninteresting and Im an anime nut. The final 20 or so minutes was all that really did anything for me.

I think Spirited Away will be (deservedly so) considered a classic in a good amount of years. The ending didnt make me cry (I dont see why it would) but I thought it was a nice ending that tied up all the loose ends.
