Like I said many times, Vanden Plas is one of my favourite progressive metal band, after the one and only Dream Theater of course. This album is a live recording that took place in Paris. The thing that strikes is that even though the sound of this live recording is not bad, it doesn't reproduce the excellent sound power of Vanden Plas studio albums. As for the vocal parts I must say that I'm really satisfied with singer's live performance and I'm looking forward to see them live one day. On some songs the guitars are I think a little bit too much in the back and the keyboards a bit forward, no big deal here but that probably explain why the sound doesn't reflect their studio albums that much.

The track selection is very very cool, where some of my favourite bands would leave behind half of my best song selection, Vanden Plas did not !

This is a good live worthy of being in every Vanden Plas collection that's for sure. First of all it's more than 70 minutes long, (rarity these days). Then it contains some excellent surprises: guest musicians ! Vocalist Don Dokken (singing "The Kiss Of Death") & my favourite guitar player: yes, Patrick Rondat on my yet favourite Vanden Plas song : Rainmaker ! So I can only say BRAVO and cry out loud that I wasn't there! You can also find a keyboard solo called Journey to Paris: although I don't usually like them I must admit that this one is quite cool and contains a very melodic piano part that I find excellent.

A Must have for Vanden Plas fans ! Two thumbs up !!!!
