Surprise of the month

And here comes back Mr. Rob Rock. Not enough happy to explode our head with his fantastic solo album (Rage Of Creation), Mr. Voice comes back with … Warrior. Yes the famous band who has done 3 albums (including this one) within the last two decades. Almost one record each 8 years since 1985?!? Of course, the original line-up is not the same, but who cares!

It starts with a bombastic power metal song (square to the bones) Day Of Reckoning, where Rob Rock doesn't lose time to impress us again. This song is a neck-breaker one and Rob's vocal, a bit more aggressive compare to his solo album, explode my ears. Whooaaw, what a start!

Second song, Killing Machine, is the "archetype" of what I call a power metal song: a killing riff, a power full chorus, bass and drums delivering the basic tempo and this heavy, heavy, very heavy rhythm. Scream for me Rob!!! Touchdown!

Forth song, We Are One, sees the mixture of power metal and true metal (for the chorus at least). This song will do a killing … LIVE !!! Basic chorus, basic riff, but again who cares as this song enters immediately in your brain and stays there forever. Great, f*cking great song!

Till the end, the musicians astonished me; innovative song-writing, excellent solos, mid or heavy tempo and killing riffs. A bit technical for some fans of power metal, but don't worry, it is quiet easy to digest these technical parts. Square metal, square songs, square chorus … but what a pleasure for my ears. This is Resurrection From Ashes!!!

I must admit that first play was not a success and without Rob Rock singing like a God (yes, he is just amazing … again!), I wouldn't have necessary give that record a second chance and it would have been a mega-big mistake. This record kills, these riffs enter in your body, destroy your brain and your neck. No peace of mind here.

More powerful than melodic, The Code Of Life, is a must for metal kids out there who are a bit tired of true metal (I mean easy bridge & chorus) and would like to hear something stronger. Don't miss this one for nothing. Right between Nevermore and Hammerfall, this new Warrior is a "must have in your metal collection". Run … NOW!!!
