Fi5th Reason is an interesting band. The swedish metallers are combining "straight in the face" powerful and crunchy rhythm guitar and subtle progressive melodies.

What is the result of that mix? Well it depends, some parts of this album (their second but the first with Scarlet Records) are clearly material for an "album of the month". But there are also some less interesting songs on the CD. On the production side I was at first surprised by the very heavy crunchy guitar sound, but it's a good choice that gives this album it's personality. The singer isn't bad at all, but is often mixed in a way that he seems distant, increasing the strangeness feeling.

A good album, recommended if you're not afraid of something a little bit unusual. This band has a great potential and their next album could very well be a killer.
