I know it's a little bit too late for this review, but Pallas is back! Each Pallas' album is an evenement itself. This time we haven't wait 13 years to ear the fourth studio album. Back in time! Pallas was formed in 1978 in the Punk/New Wave period, these guys must be crazy or they must believe very strong in what they play. At the time there was no place for Neo Progressive music style and their debut album The Sentinel (1984) followed by The Wedge (1986) received quite good reviews. At the beginning in 1999 the third album was realised! Beat The Drum lets a band of the mid 80's blowing on the european musical scene. It seems that the music fans being in search of the roots of the true music, as far from commercial music as they can.

Pallas touch, however the bass is a little bit strong and keyboards sound filling the space of room. This voice! The voice over the keyboards… I need to push a little more the volume button! If you don't do that, you won't be able to ear the intro tracks and have the impression that the music is difficult to start. Pass the calm passage, suddendly the bass comes louder than ever and Who's to Blame gives you an electric shock like a smash in the face. The music is around you, all the music is inside of you… you are the music! Towers of Babble goes in progress until the end of the track, then your loud speakers must be out! Celebration closing the chapter of The Cross & The Crucible. It's the subtle mixing up between the strength and the calmness, the day and the night, the yin and the yang. Process remains the same, you should ear it more time being in harmony with the sound and space. You just have to spread your arms and fly like Peter Pan! Don't worry about me, I haven't smoke, drink or put any illegal substances in my veins!

.Neo progressive doesn't sound like anything else, it looks like a great adventure book. Keep it or leave it… but give it a try!
