Well, the Wii is never going to have as good of graphics as PS3 or 360, so you can't hold anything against the developers. I think Nintendo is entirely too dependent on first-party games...if they wanted to, they could have good third-party games made, I think.
There are quite a few great third party games on Wii at the moment- Scarface and Godfather possessing great controls- much better than their counterparts, methinks. As for the graphics, while its true that you can't blame developers for not making 360 graphics on the wii, its very obvious that sometimes they don't try at all- take for example Far Cry, which looks like it has N64 graphics. But then you have games like Metroid Prime and Mario Galaxies or hell, even Twilight Princess (which is made for Gamecube) which show that when developers take the time, they can still make beautiful graphics for the wii.
I agree, and I love some of the stuff that gets released on the Nintendo, just look at the difference in quality between games like Lylat Wars and Zelda 64, compare them to Superman 64 (Big, major lolz) and Starcraft.It's a good example of the developers making bad decisions, Starcraft is probably the only game that I'd say is perfect, and they ruined it by not putting enough work into it.EDIT: Oh, and graphics have nothing to do with the quality of the game, I still play stuff like The Ur-Quan Masters and Tactics Ogre where the game play is much better than in newer games.
Oh, I agree that graphics don't make a game- my favourite system is after all, the SNES, and my favourite video game Ocarina of Time, whose graphics are obviously very dated. Just pointing out that when developers try, they can make very good graphics for the Wii.Oh Superman 64... are you the worst game ever?

Oh man. I don't think I've ever seen ONE SINGLE SOLITARY HUMAN BEING who liked that game. And anybody who DOES say they like it just says it sarcastically. Like, "OMG!!! ALL THAT FOG ROCKS!!!! AND THOSE CHOPPY FRAMERATES PERFECTLY EMULATE SUPERMAN WHEN HE'S HIGH ON DRUGS!!!! THIS IS THE BEST GAME EVER!!!!"

If anybody knows even ONE single person who likes that game, please respond with whoever it is.

I wanna get a new console soon, but i dont know what to get :sad: Since the ps3 is so expensive and the sixaxis control has been widely criticised.

With the sales, im not sure. I think the Wii is selling well but the ps3 isnt selling as well as it should due to launching late and the high price.

In Australia the ps3 doesn't have full backwards compatibility either.

Well, there are the obvious classics: Mario 64, Goldeneye, the two Zelda games, the Banjo-Kazooie games, Super Smash Brothers, Mario Party, etc. But there are also quite a few overlooked gems for the system. Such as:

Rocket: Robot On Wheels
Star Wars: Rogue Squadron
Star Wars: Battle For Naboo
Space Station: Silicon Valley
Ogre Battle 64
Paper Mario
Conker's Bad Fur Day
The Rush series (although the Dreamcast version of Rush: 2049 is better than the N64 version)
Blast Corps
The Turok series (including the somewhat panned Turok 3). Hey, at the time, those were about as good as console FPS's got.
Mission: Impossible (possibly the system's most underrated game ever).

And quite a few others. As I said before, I do prefer my Playstation over my N64. But a lot of people really do tend to underappreciate the N64. It had a lot of great games for it. Many of which have been unfairly forgotten.

I've noticed a lot of developers have been slagging the Wii as of late. Saying it's "just a fad and will die out eventually." For the record, I think a lot of these opinions have less to do with their feelings on the actual console and more to do with the bitterness a lot of them still have towards Nintendo due to the mistakes they've made with the N64 and Game Cube. It's almost as if people now WANT Nintendo to fail because of the way they've treated their third party companies with their last two systems (especially the N64).

you're forgetting about Mario Kart 64 (annoying single-player but incredible multiplayer), Diddy Kong Racing and Excitebike 64.

The 64 was a cornerstone of my childhood. I still play waverace 64 occassionally, among other ones.

Anyway, I think I broke the WoW addictoin pretty fast. I had roughly....5 or 6 hours of free time today and only spent about 1.5 playing it. It is so fucking huge and drawn out that it seems pretty futile to keep seriously pursuing forward. Plus, it's really all about character development, without much of a prominent plot at all, so I don't really feel compelled to kill stuff just to kill it and make myself stronger.

Plus it's 15 bucks a month. And it seems like all the serious hardcore gamers are pre-teens. I'll keep toying with it for a few more days to see if I should remove it from my computer completely or keep playing....

Totally agreed. I can't really understand how people manage to play WOW for seven or eight hours a day. Six months ago, I even read about this one couple where the wife actually left her husband because of all his WOW playing!

For me, it's a game I can play may be once or twice a week. Usually to relax. But I can't spend hours playing it like I can, say, Final Fantasy X. It's just too shallow.

In response to the person who mentioned Resident Evil: Code Veronica X, I actually just sold it. You wouldn't believe how many times I've had to start, and restart, and restart that game over and over again because of how damn unforgiving it is (one small slip-up could basically screw you out of any chance of succeeding in the game). Adding insult to injury: It's not scary. If you've played previous RE games, you'll notice that absolutely NOTHING new has been added to up the scare factor. "The Thing Breaking Through The Window." The "Surprise" Zombie attack after seeing a seemingly inanimate corpse lying on the ground. And so on. The polygonal backgrounds don't help matters much, either, since they lack the eerie realism of the backgrounds in other RE games.

So I'm going to play the superior Devil May Cry instead and may be pick up the Resident Evil remake for the GameCube sometime later.

I have 22.5 days of total wow playing. It's the best game ever made.

And Dylan making yourself stronger is a way to enjoy more the game since you can play in high-level raids,istances, arena... The game gets more fun when you reach 70 and start pvp and do the serious stuff.
For example yesterday in my server i joined a 40 man raid for the scarab wall, bossess that could one hit kill you at lvl 70! 🙂

I havent started it yet, but ive played other RE games before so im not surprised about the scare factor, RE has never been scary IMO, in fact its not even survival horror (at least from 1 to 3), you've always got lots of weapons(especially 3) lots of ammo and lots of healing items for me its more about just having a good time killing Zombies, IMO Silent Hill has alaways been superior to RE, still not actually "scary" but the mood its more "macabre" and you actually feel like you are trying to survive from all the madness thats happening, not to mention the amazing riddles you have to solve (SH3!!!) in comparission with the "find key A to open door A" type of puzzles RE has.
About the game being unforgiving im actually a little intrigued by this i like challenging games, ill post about it when i actually get to play it.

Devil May Cry is great, is this going to be your first playthrough?.

Ive put in like 180, redoing the grid can be a pain in the ass, but many of these hours could be because i felt sleep many times while playing it without turning it off :ph34r: .

Yep. And I agree that it's an awesome game. There were actually a lot of killer PS2 games released in 2001. I'll also need to pick up Twisted Metal Black, Silent Hill 2, Ico, and Metal Gear Solid 2 when I have the chance.

I agree that critics often make the RE games out to be scarier than they really are (I never found the Zombies to be scary at all, personally). But the first three games had at least a few moments that made me shriek/jump (particularly the second half of RE1, when all those Hunters infested the mansion). RE:CV, on the other hand, never once made me jump. That's why I think it's the weakest of the RE games (that I've played).

Resistance: Fall of Man.. Amazing so far.

As for peoples talking about RE:CV, I agree about its amount of suck, that game single handedly turned me off of RE for a loooong time, as in, havent played one since. Been meaning to try 4 since it actually looks like a sequel and it looks like alot of effort was put into it, whereas Code Veronica was just the same as the rest with better character models and a new location.
