I've got the entire Queensryche discography on random right now since I basically only know Empire and the Greatest Hits album and want to hear the newer stuff. Random is good because I won't know what record the songs came from unless I look. I need to get my Geoff Tate voice in order. Something tells me Todd is going to get fired. He is butchering their songs BAD. Not that I would disrespect Geoff by working with the scabs though. It's a fine illusion to motivate though and my Geoff impersonation is perfect since I used to be an Opera singer (sort of, in another life, or that's another delusion to encourage me 🙂)

"Fear City Slide" is playing now. I like it.

"Burning Man" is playing and I like it too. maybe Geoff Tate is a parallel life. All his ideas are sounding good to me.

"Sign of the times" sounded good. I remember it from what must have been years ago. It has a nice melody. I'm not hearing any reason whatsoever to hate any of this stuff. The haters are probably the same people that abandoned Rush in 1982 when they heard signals.

We had a silly argument last year with Dev, about who is over the other, Paul or Bruce. I was saying Bruce > Paul, and he, the contrary. Then I somehow put lesbians into the equation, and that basically just him up for... well, a year.

But now the time has come to settle our business. Devy. Bruce > Paul.

I'll admit that Bruce is a more talented singer and they definitely wrote some of their best tunes with Bruce, but yes I prefer Paul Maiden to Bruce Maiden. And I love Bruce Maiden, so that makes Maiden one of my all time favs? I guess.

Maiden's the only band I know to have delivered seven masterpieces in a row. Seven! In a row!

And for the record, I love both Paul and Bruce. You can't really compare them anyway, they're different singers with different purpose.

Yes, you're not the only one. Some of my friends feel the same way, not me though. I prefer Bruce over Paul anytime, more talented vocalist, more stage presence, and the music released with Dickinson was, imho, better, especially the period between 1983-1988.

Don't get why you think the Maiden lost her uniqueness with Bruce. He has one of the most distinctive voice in Metal.

I've already admitted that Bruce is one of the best ever, and influenced hundred of thousands of people. But I care about the music. And the music they had with Paul is different. Nobody else did it or has come close to it. I know Bruce is better than Paul, and technically so is the music. But, the first 2 albums are genius and the only 2 of their kind.

He had the same problem as Ripper Owens, trying to emulate the voice of the former legends. I kinda like Blaze solo stuff, but his contribution to Iron Maiden is... well :unsure:
