Let it be said I was never influenced by Maiden or Priest and do not even have their albums to listen to. We did a few songs at the record store each of them, but I was too far gone by the time I got around to hearing any of their work. It's a controversial position to take, but I found the same but better elsewhere.
Dio on the other hand is a whole different story. Wishing Well might as well be the first time I heard "real metal" that you wouldn't be exposed to through the mainstream at the time. I immediately went out and got the Beast of Dio. Before there was even Rush, there was Dio, for me!
I'm listening to demos. They sound a lot better if I do a 27-step of boosting specific "magical" frequencies, but come on now, that's going to get real old real quick doing that 20 times a day. adding the same effect 540 times a day to tracks is not really on my agenda, sound quality be damned!
