I was under the influence when I watched it, so found the Russian roulette scenes where the Viet Cong kept slapping people rather hilarious.Just watched OSS 117: Rio ne répond plus. Good, glad you liked the film; I did too. It was probably my favorite Deniro performance, which is obviously saying something. Most of the stateside criticism was reserved for the lengthy Orthodox wedding scene, which didn't bother me as it showed a particular strand of American life which a number of us probably weren't familiar with exactly. Perhaps the scene was a touch too long; what did you think?
I live on the Philadelphia side of the state of Pennsylvania, opposite from where the film took place, but I do feel qualified to say the film depicted life in Western Pennsylvania very well.
