Fernando Santos got the axe! after a disappointing pre-season, Benfica fired the guy who managed to not win the portuguese title with Porto's 5 time back to back championship winning team (back when Mário Jardel was damn near unstoppable).
FS wasn't exactly the most competent coach, but luck was never on his side - constant injury problems and a president that sold out his two best players just like that...

and the new manager is.... JOSÉ CAMACHO!! he was with us for two years, finishing behind only José Mourinho's Champions' League winning FC Porto on both seasons. i think he's the right man for the job, and he's very popular with Benfica fans. let's hope this doesn't turn into another disappointment.

Belgium finally won a match! They beat Servia with 3-2. The first half was completely perfect, total dominant play. Dembelé and Mirallas will shock the football world in the next years! :dio:

bah, and Portugal tied with Armenia 1-1. granted, the pitch was complete shit and we were playing away, but FFS we have some of the best players in the world playing in some of the top clubs (juventus, man united, chelsea...) and we have to win these matches. there shouldn't be excuses when you tie against a team of fucking mailmen, fishmongers and teachers!

Sevilla's Antonio Puerta collapsed during the first match of the season against Getafe last saturday night and had to be replaced. He lost conscousness again off the field and was rushed to the hospital.

Today he died, only 22 years old.

it's scary how something like this can happen to someone (especially someone that young and in such a solid physical condition) just like that, no warning...

same thing happened to Benfica's Miklos "Miki" Feher, it was fucked up watching him die live on national tv.
