you do know they have a lottery to see who gets the 1st draft pick between the worst teams right.? Pretty much impossible to predict if you ask.

Well, yes, but the worst team has something like a 1/2 chance of getting it, the second worst team 1/4, third worst team 1/8, etc... Chances are the worst team gets it.

Right now the Islanders have a 48% chance of drafting first overall. Last year Tampa was dead last and drafted first, I say it happens again this year. Plus there is all the crap that Bettman rigs the draft, so I wouldn't be surprised if the Islanders get Tavares. He doesn't want to have to move an american team.

So the All Star Weekend is over, and here are some things I would like to point out from the weekend:

During the Rookie-Sophomore game when Luke Schenn had the breakaway and the entire builidng was boo(hoo)ing him and he came in on Price and forehand to backhanded to top shelfed his ass, well lets just say thats the biggest cheer I have let out all year long.

The all star game itself was boring as hell, until the last 5 to 10 minutes of the 3rd and OT. But what else did I expect from an All Star game? An all star game that had Kovalev as the MVP... :rolleyes:

Chara is a beast, broke an NHL record for hardest slap-shot.

The breakaway challenge was a joke, just pure bullshit.

And lastly, the standing ovation for Vinny. As much as I hate the Habs, I think it would be cool to see him in a habs uniform. Would they let him wear number 4?

The look on Raycrofts face when the Leafs scored the 7th goal was worth the price of admission.

Unfortunately, it's a look i'm all to accustomed with...

Saturday will be huge. Killer gets to hang with the best of the best, because he is the best. My all time favourite Leaf. :dio:

Tomas Kaberle broke his hand, out 4 to 6 weeks. Ouch.

Our best puck moving d-man done for a month or more. Hopefully Stralman gets called up and shows that he is ready for the big time. It also looks like now Kabs will get traded and the draft instead of trade deadline...

Beat Atlanta tonight after a sick first period... Shots 21-4, and only a completely insane Lethonen in the thrashers goal kept us from slaughtering them. Ward recorded another shutout, his third of the season, and second in two weeks or so..

Chad LaRose and Matt Cullen are really shining for us now, and our big boy Staal is getting back to his old self.

Next up is the Canucks who has been struggling a great deal. Go CANES!

he scored a pretty nifty goal from behind the net. Burrows won the game with a short-handed breakaway in the last minute so he's pretty much the hero though.

Sounds like a Sundin type goal, work hard from behind the net. I've seen him do that for a few years.

And I like Burrows, one of those guys I'd like to have on the Leafs. So good for him and such.

i like Burrows too. when they first got him, i just noticed him on penalty kills where he would basically go really fast and scare the other team into not knowing what to do with the puck, then he'd fall over or something. he's gotten better and better with puck control and not falling over with each season, though his energy has gone down somewhat this season since he got promoted to getting more ice time. i hope the Canucks don't trade him.

Sorry walnut. I didn't even know there was an NHL thread. The Panthers are pretty good this year. They really turned on after the break. Losing Jay Bouwmeester would suck though. I just thought it was funny that after all the booing McCabe scored the winner.

Ironic. I'm not trying to be mean though I can see that you and the rest of the Leaf's fans are very devoted. I can't say the same for SoFla's fans of any sport...

I guess my comment in your thread was a little mean.

And just so you know, I wouldn't boo McCabe if I was there. Yeah he lost a lot of games over the years. But we also have a winning record with him in the lineup. When he is not playing for us (injured/now with Florida) we have a losing record. And all of those boos were half assed.

Plus JBo will look nice in a Leafs jersey come July 2nd. 😛

Losing Bouwmeester now wouldn't be as catastrophic as it would've been before last season b/c we traded Jokinen for Ballard and Boynton. Our defense is solid, but you don't just trade away the leading scorer, captain, and face of the franchise like that.

I think we'll keep JBo. We have plenty of money to hand out (I know this because my friends father owns the team)

What we need is a young, flat out goal scorer. I think we have one in the making in Michael Frolik.
