IF, and that's a pretty big if, Hendo loses, it certainly won't be by knockout. That's one of the toughest guys in MMA, its gonna take more than the likes of Bisping to turn his lights out.

Bisping is good, but Henderson can take a helluva beating, and still give it back damn hard..

Lesnar is one huge fuck, but Mir's all-around fighting skills are way out of Lesnar's league. I guess we'll see.
Too bad I'll miss the fight, I really wanted to see it.

You have a feeling of a knockout? Hendo has never been KO'd or TKO'd in his career professionally in 12 years. Bisping isn't a knock out finisher, anyway, and I don't see him getting a TKO on Dan in any way.

Bisping shouldn't beat Hendo unless Hendo lets him outpoint him on the feet, and play the Bisping game. There's nothing he has to offer that Hendo isn't better at, I just hope Dan goes in there ready for blood, and doesn't let the judges decide it.

I mean, anything is possible, but I just don't see a KO/TKO coming in favor of Bisping. If anything, Bisping will be eating Dan's patented big right hand.

Mir is a shell of the fighter he once was since the accident. He only outclassed Nog so well because Nog was just coming off a bad staph infection and a bad knee.

I don't think it'd be too out of place to see Lesnar TKO him with ease, then again, Mir could still get an early sub and end it. I don't see him lasting in later rounds, he has poor conditioning, he looked to be fading to me in the second round of the Nog fight, and if you watch his earlier fights, you can see he fades in later rounds.

Many people said the same thing about Couture, but Lesnar handled him fairly easily. Did you see the first Lesnar-Mir fight? Mir was about a hammer punch away from being TKO'd inside of 30 seconds. If Lesnar's submission defense has improved even a little bit, he should destroy Mir with relative ease.

And Herring never really impressed me as a first-rate fighter.

Yeah, I saw that fight. I think he was caught off guard by Lesnar's rhinoceros like charges, which led to the inevitable ground and pound.
But, as a skilled fighter, Mir saw the opening and took advantage of it.

Lesnar is a pretty one dimensional fighter; charge, try for a takedown and a pound-out.
He's quick and strong, though.
Mir is pretty well rounded, though his stand up not the best, he has gotten better, and he's not exactly a 90 lb. weakling, either.

I really hope Mir takes the belt, not out of anything against Lesnar, but a guy with three fights under his belt and especially when the wins are over Herring and a way over the hill Couture... well, his title as Heavyweight Champion is dubious, and kind of a slap in the face of the fighters that have dedicated their lives to the craft, IMO, at least... good business move by White, though.
Lesnar seems to be trying his hand at yet another sport. First the WWE, than the NFL, and now MMA.

I think you guys are way too hard on Lesnar. Admittedly, he's not an MMA great, but he's far from a gimmick. Couture may have been on the downslope, but he had just owned Gabe Gonzaga in his last fight, so Lesnar beating him was still impressive in my book. Herring was a substitute for Mark Coleman if memory serves, and while Herring isn't top notch, he's not a pushover either. Dana hasn't been feeding Lesnar cupcakes like EliteXC did with Kimbo. Now that was a publicity stunt. Nothing against Kimbo, but it will be a bit hard not to chuckle if he gets demolished on TUF.

I think you should watch the fight again. Randy was employing a great gameplan, using his grappling and dirty boxing to his advantage, tiring Brock out, and keeping him up against the fence, forcing him to work. Brock was getting tired, but he came out with some solid punches, and landed. Had the fight went on, I have no doubt Randy would have won. That's just my opinion, though.

I think your buddy likes KO's/TKO's. lol. I think it's possible that Thiago could possibly sub Fitch, but Fitch is a beast and I really don't think that Thiago is gonna get a second big upset in the WW division.

Koscheck, staying true to most other wrestlers who believe they have developed a dynamic striking game and abandoned their core skills, left himself open to a simple uppercut by a BJJ guy, Paulo Thiago.

I wouldn't expect that to happen again. Fitch should outwork Thiago easily.

I'd like to see Akiyama by TKO/Sub... But I don't think his entrance into the UFC is going to go smoothly, like most Eastern prospects.

Well, I did say fairly. I guess I'm just saying that because I never got the slightest sense Lesnar was in trouble when I watched that fight. I'll agree that Randy was working his style well in the first round though.

All I'm saying is that people are casting off Lesnar as a gimmick since he's from WWE, and I don't think that's accurate. Sure the guy has no BJJ game, but that doesn't mean he doesn't have other skills. He was a national champion wrestler in college FFS.

I like Mir, and I won't be shocked if he wins by submission again, but I sure as hell won't be surprised if Brock pounds him into dust inside of one minute either.

It's not as if he is another Sapp or anything, but the fact that he is a pretty one-dimensional fighter, added to the fact that he has a mere 3 wins, well, he should have to pay his dues just like the rest of the fighters, and fight his way up.

I'm rooting for Mir, though it really could go either way.

For the most part I agree with you, but I think Lesnar getting a shot at the title had a lot to do with timing as well. I think we would all agree that the UFC heavyweight division was pretty damn weak until just recently. When Couture ended his hiatus, who else could he have fought really? Mir and Nog were out, obviously. Before those two, the main eventers were Sylvia and Arlovski, but they were gone. Basically what I'm saying is I agree with you about guys needing to pay their dues, but in that case Dana didn't have much choice for Couture's opponent outside of Lesnar unless I'm forgetting someone.

I don't think he went any higher than Light Heavyweight, but I could be wrong. Even then I think it was only for one fight, against Irvin.
