He's just testing the LHW waters for kicks, I guess.
Anyway, as far as Lesnar, he was given a title shot too early, but you know what... He won the fight. I can't take that away from him. I think the UFC wants to build him up as a star, and why not? He's a huge draw, and has created a huge amount of buzz in the MMA world. He's worth far more than any long time standing fighter to the UFC.
I think he'll only get better with time, and I think he'll shock quite a few people handling Frank Mir.
I just get a sour taste in my mouth when I think " Brock Lesnar, UFC HW champion ".
Adam wroteWell, I did say fairly. I guess I'm just saying that because I never got the slightest sense Lesnar was in trouble when I watched that fight. I'll agree that Randy was working his style well in the first round though.
Right on. Randy's gameplan was to take Brock into deep waters, get him tired out, and take advantage. Really, Brock had a huge size and power advantage on Randy, so it was a sensible gameplan. Randy is not a huge finisher with big strikes, or a quick submitter, so I think he went in with the best possible gameplan and he was employing it perfectly against Lesnar... But hey, it's MMA, and one punch changes everything.
