I think this is the first truly excellent Aborted album.

I had Purity of Perversion and Engineering the Dead but they were very generic (so much so I sold them to a 2nd hand store for $3 a piece!).

With Archaic Abbatoir they combine the brutal DM with melodic elements and it works really well.

Good to see someone else appreciates it as it appears to have got a bit of flak from the DM community.

If you can find this (not the dreadful re-recording under the name The Kovenant, which is a sad parody of this truly great album. I would also avoid Nexus Polaris, as well), I highly recommend it if you like melodic Black Metal.
I was lucky enough to score this when it came out, and haven't seen it anywhere since. But, then again I haven't really looked, haha.

They bore me to death after Destroy, Erase, Improve. All the technical mastery in the world doesn't count for diddly squat if you can't write a song.

Songs are for pussies. 45 minute journeys into post-industrial wastelands of machinery and violence are where it's at.

(imo Meshuggah could never write a traditional song very well which is why all their non-Catch Thirtythree albums get samey and incredibly boring two or three tracks in.)
