Goat wroteThe Haunted were never really pure thrash, though, were they? It's always been tempered with a heavy dose of melodeath, especially on the Aro albums. Dolving always took them more towards hardcore, and did it well - songs like 99 or All Against All do the job perfectly.
Hence in my initial post, I think I put down Neo-Thrash which was the term being bandied about when they initially started.Stuff like Witchery and Darkane also got lumped into this category, though the label didn't stick.
Goat wrote Like I said elsewhere, I'd much rather have them trying something new than another dull Versus. And comparing them to Limp Bizkit is just silly.
I love their first 4 albums. Anything after rEvolver is complete rubbish and in my opinion just as irritating and badly conceived as anything by Limp Bizkit.
They should've changed the band name (like At The Gates pretty much did or the way Gorerotted did) when they decided to change styles.
Maybe something like Turdfest.
Oh and when it comes to forgotten musical labels, does anyone remember:
New Wave of American Heavy Metal (which gets called Metalcore these days).
When Power Metal referred to Groove Metal, mainly due to Pantera? Back then Helloween was Speed Metal...
When Doom Metal referred to slow Death Metal and stuff like Cathedral was called Stoner Metal.
