Two listens in a row here, and I must say I am not impressed that much. Some good headbanging or groovy moments... that's it for now. Maybe it needs a few more listens. That said, the only album I really liked (a lot) was With Oden on Our Side.

I can definitely see your point, the first track is easily the best one. While all the other songs are great too they don't reach the same level War of the Gods does. And With Oden on Our Side is easily their best album.

I'm a bit underwhelmed with the new Amon Amarth myself too. I loved everything they have done so far and like this one too, but this is a major step down from With Oden on Our Side. I loved it at first but it is getting boring very fast. It does not have killer tracks like Guardians of Asgaard and whatnot.

I love the track Stone cold metal (who doesn't ?), but I'm not thrilled by the other tracks as much as I am with the s/t album. I have trouble to listen to this album, I always get bored, eventually. Tonight I stopped after 4 tracks. I know this album is praised by many, I want to "get" it 🙂

Oh and this album isn't the one I like the least, I forgot Victory Songs.
