It sure is OK for the price (19 euros), but I've been tweaking the equalizer for the last half-hour without managing to have something decent.I'm going to make a thread so you guys can tell me which headphones / set you're currently using.
or you could just have asked Addy the master of 4th dimension acoustics
Speakers and microphones are typically made of transducers, in ohter words, regular speakers and it's my experience and audio folklore that they require hours of burn in to sound the way they will for the duration of their life.
Take the headphones and blast the shit out of them with music for a few days to break in the headphones.
Personally, I like the Sony MDR-7506's. People can keep their bullshit premium "audiophile" brands that do nothing but color the sound in a flattering way that offers no accuracy to the original recording whatsoever. I can use DSPs to do that myself far more effectively. All of Sony's closed back "monitoring" headphones are good and there is little difference in audio quality from the MDR-XD200's pried at about 20 bucks to the MDR's priced at around 100.
I have never used the MDR7509's that are about 200 bucks which extend the treble all the way to 40Khz instead of 20Khz. Technically that is not true because the rated response is just a number that by far most examples exceed easily.
