Some stuff like Tool and Radiohead hasn't gone away. Like the stuff I loved as a 14 year old stuck, but my favourites since turning 16 have been fleeting. Although The Mars Volta still tickle me just as pink as they did seven years ago, and I've had Protest the Hero around a while. Just tons of stuff that used to be earth shaking that's fallen by the wayside. (Opeth, Neurosis, Devin Townsend, Reverend Bizarre, Converge, Slough Feg, Thrice, King Crimson, Dillinger Escape Plan, At the Gates, Dark Tranquillity, Soilwork  ) I can still see why I liked it, but listening to it ain't what it used to be. The experience of listening to a new album by a once favourite and being unmoved, and then going back to the old stuff and being similarly unmoved, makes me feel like a little bit of me has died.
