It means they are damn beautiful songs not needing a great technical writing for beeing great :) (I think)

I totally agree with this score...finally someone give this album the score it deserves!!

There is a song in the late songs of the album that you can hear a great Harp sound...just gorgeous...amazing album

For this album, some of the songs follow their pattern especially well but they're still following a pattern. Nothing really breaks the cycle. I'll try to make that more clear next time. That's what happens when I write reviews at 1 AM after 7 hrs of studying biochemistry.

I know I should have reviewed this one a long time ago, but Jay just did it perfectly

there are several non album tracks :
- overcome
- towards the end
- a dangerous mind
- the swan song

you will be able to find them on the limited digipack or on the MCD

hope you'll like them

Jay I think you often hit the mark with your reviews but personally I think you've missed it with this one. Your comments about similar strong structures are fair, but contrary to your closing comment the album still has GREAT songs which you even mentioned in your review! (Its the fear, See Who I Am, and I think Stand my Ground is also worth mentioning).

Theres no way that this album deserves only 85 with their prior release Mother Earth being far more simplistic and less mature and scoring 92. To be honest, I'm glad I got my hands on the album before I read your review because it might have convinced me to give it a miss. ("Their new album is worse than their last one?! Screw that!")

I think this album is easily as good as Comalies, and not much worse than Once, both of which again score higher.

I think the majority of your comments are reasonable but the score is not. (Perhaps on a true scale it is, but all the reviews on this site are scored too high and its too late to change that now).

would you call this album outstanding ?... cause that's what 85 stands for & I think it's a very good score, good enough to make it on my top ten ! actually, with that score, it would have get #8 on my 2004 list....

so, calm down since it's still a very posititve review ! 8)

not so much.. but I just cannot understand why standards on the same website can be different from one reviewer to another...it's an editorial nonsense that's what it is! :?

Keep in mind that I DIDN'T review Mother Earth. I would have scored Mother Earth in the 70's. This album blows it away! I totally agree with your comments though.

I say we burn Sharon den Adel,Cristina Scabbia and Tarja Turunen together at the stake for pissing on my beloved metal. Other then that, nice review.

Ahh thats true, plus I just noticed you gave Once are far more reasonable 90 rather than 98. Fair enough.
