I love that song too, as well as Embody The Invisible and Scorn from Colony. My other favorite songs include Stand Ablaze, Moonshield, Pinball Map, Jotun, and Food For The Gods.

I've never heard Lunar Strain or Subterranean. :? I've been meaning to buy the reissues.

I also really like "Only For The Weak." I got my band name from that song.

Too bad the lyrics don't make any conceivable sense... Per usuale with In Flames.

Oh well...

This review has driven me to discard my preconcieved notions and actually give this one a chance. I doubt I'll like it enough to give it a 95, but I'll still give it a chance.

And my favorite that I have by them so far is Colony. Great stuff, but I need some more older material.

There's no such thing as a solid 90! 70 is solid, 90 is bordering on the spectacular.

Its my score and I will rate it how I want!

This album really isn't very good at all. I enjoy Take This Life, but that's it.

Foreign bands generally make little sense when writing in English. Haha. And it's just a line I took, in fact, it's actually what I thought was said, but it turned I was hearing it wrong. I thought what I initially thought it said was cool. Hence: band name. =)

I think this new album is Colony meets Clayman, so you may dig it.

Since people are posting favorite songs...

Resin
Worlds within the Margin
Gyroscope
Jotun
Zombie Inc.
Square Nothing
Another Day in Quicksand
Dark Signs
Wayfaerer
December Flower
And Stand Ablaze's intro ALL make me orgasm.

They really are a great band, just consistantly bad on their past 2. Haven't heard the new one, but I'm gunna buy it because Jason actually has me thinking I might like it.

Fine, but your reasoning sucks.

This album may be better than the last 2 but its still a fact that everything in flames has come up with from Clayman and on hasnt been worth the money..

I blame Anders and his girly whining, feels like in flames has changed their style to better suit it, and honestly i prefer death vocals that dont sound like a mental patient who is 1 second about to cry and wet his pants and the next trying to do primal-scream-therapy.. Dont know what i m talking about? Listen to 'the quiet place' and you ll see what i mean..

Anyways, come clarity isnt worth more than perhaps 50 or 60 out of 100.. Listen it through a few times and you ll notice that few of the songs actually stick in your mind, in the end it just feels like one long blur of drumming and riffing..

If in flames could produce something along the lines of lunar strain / subterranean i would embrace them once more as the best metal band ever, but until then? No thanks.. Prefer spending my money on Insomnium or some other nice band..

I am raising my score. This album is definitely better if you listen to it with an OPEN mind. There are still some really horrible songs on here though. It sits at 69/100 for me at the moment.

Horrible? Really?

Which ones? I can't remember anything from this album beyond the first four songs for the life of me. The rest is a blur, but not an offensively bad one.
