WOW! talk about friggin heavy compared to the previous three records. Much more brutal, less melodic, harsher vocals. It's a friggin aural attack. It's nothing like the single Lost to Apathy....

well, I agree it's not the easiest album at first... though, I'm sure it'll grow on you so you can find the "hidden melodies" that makes the genius of it ! enjoy ! :D

Slowly growing on me now :D
especially like The New Build, Lost to Apathy, ONe Thought and My Negation.

Have you noticed that on Through Smudge lens the last word he says is die and that you can hear the sound of a stopped heart on a heart monitor !?

In my case I got plenty of time, I'm allowed to listen to music at work so it helps big time. I usually listen to 5 CD's per day while I'm at work.

Yeah same here, it makes a big difference. Plus I'm more productive when I'm listening to music as I'm less likely to get distracted by office conversation..

There's a new Melodic Death band from Finland called Thales.
You can listen their songs at www.thalesband.com

I finally found this CD. I was waiting for A&B to get it in, then finally I checked HMV for the hell of it, and they had one copy! So I bought it, and finally listened to the whole thing through.

It's damn amazing. They still use a lot of the Dark Tranquility formula in their song structure, but the album feels like they've added a whole new level to their music, a whole new richness. It blew me away. 97/100 from me as well.

I agree with Jaden. I can't quite put my finger on why, but this album does sound different. However, DT integrate new sound into their repertoire better than any band in their genre. This album is cemented in the top 3 metal releases of this year as far as I'm concerned.

This CD kicks much ass! But like I said in my end of year thingy, they need to change it up on the next album. Haven, Damage Done and this one are all in the same realm, they run the risk of it getting old if they don't mix it up.

I'm all for another Projector, what about you?

This is decent, for melodeath. I'm getting really tired of the genre, but this is good.

Yep, you gotta make some choices, find some bands you like, ignore the rest. Mediocrity will ruin a genre once the mainstream gets it's stranglehold on it.
