I've got an edited version of Vampira on a Terrorizer disc, about 3 minutes long. How long's the full version?

Weirs. Wonder why it says it's edited. Must be a mistake....

Anyway, good song, but I wouldn't call it his best. Perhaps a bit too radio-friendly? *ducks*

Well, it was the single that got shipped out to radio stations (which I somehow have ended up owning).

That song was pretty cool. Dev's vocals reminded me of Marco Heitala in some odd way.

I don't think "Vampira" is too radio-friendly! No way, Devin has many songs even more radio-friendly than this, tons in fact.

Well, it's rather simplistic, no? Nothing challenging...

Well, yeah, it's just a straightforward ballburner. I know it's Devin Townsend, but he can tone it down a bit, too.

What everybody else said. You can find my thoughts about this in the Power/prog forum. Amazing album, but the only downfall is "Pixillate." I find this song to be pretty boring. Anyway, 90/100.

i'm checking this one out. when MR.com is so unanimous it's almost always a great album. unless it's unanimous that an album is shit, of course :P

Devin Townsend is hit or miss with people. They either love him or just don't get it, but I've never seen someone say he sucks. It's almost like everyone at least respects him and what he does.

I think if anyone is going to "discover" Devin Townsend the best way to do it is start from the beginning. Synchestra is an amazing album, but it's not going to kick your ass from beginning to end, you need to listen and soak it all in. A lot of his albums are like this aside for the SYL records and Physicist.

i already know SYL. it's amazing how they can sound so brutal and at the same time soothing, but never making it sound like a forced mix.

plus he ain't a pretentious dick like mike patton... now that's overrated.

*puts flame jacket on*

mike patton could shit out a Synchestra every week if he needed the money.

I didn't append my score to this album because most people will like this.. but I absolutely detest it. it's patronizing music

Well that's just plain controversial.

mike patton is a pretentious... guy. yeah.

he's just as bad as that asshole who composed 4 minutes of silence.

do't get me wrong he's a great singer and i love his stuff with the dillinger escape plan, but some of his stuff is pure shit. like that album based on a cookbook or something. coming from anyone but him, it's get shit from everyone, but since it's got his name on it...

sometimes his music feels like he's doing it different just for the sake of it.

A lot of Patton's stuff is pure shit. He can do it because fanboys eat it up. It's like with boxing, how many turdfests can they put on PPV before people stop and go, "Wait a fucking minute!" Yet, people still buy them so they keep charging.

People need to boycott Patton until he's forced to called up Jim Martin and begs for forgiveness!

Them's fightin' words. What, exactly, do you mean by "patronizing?"
