It all depends what mood I'm in, or what I'm doing. I have all of my music copied to my PC, so when i'm on the internet, i usually pick an album and listen to it the whole way through, and when it finishes pick another one. When I'm at school, I don't have time to listen to an album, so I put my favourite songs on my Mp3 player (i got a cheap, 256MB one) and use that at school.

meh the last years i always listen through the whole album but after 40 listens i automatically skip the songs i don't like(of there are any)
and my mp3 is reserved for downloaded albums that were recommended or promising

I never skip songs on albums. Always listen to the whole Cd even if i dont like some parts.

At first its the whole cd, then later ill skip around tracks. But i dont like playing an album frm halfway to the end. In the car, its whatever track i feel like. Idont like skipping between different bands too much (though i dont own an mp3 player so its not easy to listen to heaps of artists at once.)

Usually it's the whole album, but it depends on my mood.

Generally I prefer to listen to an entire album from start to end with no skipping. Especially so when it comes to more atmospheric and introspective music which just craves to be enjoyed in its entirety and its proper context. I rarely listen to a single song unless I'm just sampling or if I get one of my sudden urges to shout along to Burst Command Til War or something like that. What I listen to depends on my mood and situation which naturally varies from day to day or even from hour to hour.

I like to emulate the atmospheres of the music by listening to it in the darkness, in the forest, on the couch accompanied with a bottle of wine etc. depending on the specific piece.

I can't/won't/hate to listen to anything on shuffle.

I always listen to an entire album at once, I also go through fases of sludge, melodic death, avant guarde, techcore or whatnot, but they usually only last a day at most.

I guess I should post in this thread. I listen to music all the time, sometimes with friends (song by song), sometimes on my headphones at work (album by album), sometimes on my laptop (album by album), when I go running (album by album), when I'm driving (varies), at school (song by song), and there is more, but I can't think of anything else I do.

Yea, I realized I listen to music all the time too... It actualyl coems to something like 10+ hours a day, more on days I work, its pretty nuts.

I am fortunate that in my job, I spend most of the time by myself in a delivery truck. So for about 10 hours a day I can listen to whatever the hell I want, as loud as I want, and actually doing my job is never the top priority.

I always listen to an album straight though from begining to end. To me listening to an album is like tasting wine. You can't just guzzle it all down at once. You have to sip it slowly and consider every little aspect of it. Besides if an album only has a few songs worth listening to, I won't own it. And I will skip constantly from one genre to the next every album. I will go from "Anthems to the Welkin at Dusk" to "Supersonic Firestorm" to "Frail Words Collapse" to Mega Trance Mix Volume 3 without batting an eye.

I have had albums stolen out of my car as well. There is nothing, I repeat NOTHING more low and dispicable than stealing someone's cds or musical equipment. Even though it happened a few years ago, to this day I get pissed off just thinking about. It was when I was working in some crack infested neighborhood in the shitty ass town I am from so go figure. (Word to the wise, don't do drugs with wierd black people who forget to lock the fucking doors!)

One of my friends had a great band going and they had to give it up because all their shit got stolen. When I become Supreme Overlord of the Universe I will hunt down everyone who has ever stolen cds and eat their fucking souls.
