First: Can you please include the year in the review ? It's very helpfull when using search.
Second: The album ... I am not a big fan of Megadeth, and for this album is ok, nothing extraordinary (except for Blackmail the universe which is very good), but not boring either. A 80/100 album ..

a well-done album of theirs, but, on the whole, nothing all that special.

Oh man, my brother just bought it today and we were playing it in the car. I have a rule for listening to new music - don't do it when I have a headache; I never like it as much. Well, I was in a state of complete shit today, and I loved the album!

[Edit] Did anyone else think Back in the Day or whatever it is sounds kind of like Judas Priest..?

Three times through now and I get it. For me this was not an instant album. It has not got the rather brilliant catchiness of Youthanasia or parts of Cryptic Writings. But its growing all the time.
A minor complaint is that Poland who is an absolute shredder seems to be holding back. Maybe some artistic limitations going on there I think.

Ellefson is missed also. The bass playing is very precise on this but does not have that pick hungry wildness that has been the Deth's staple all these years.

Totally disagree with the score. This is probably one of Megadeth's best work ever. Definitely superior in every way to A World Needs a Hero which got 95%. This album is almost perfect. IMO this album close 2nd best to Rust in Peace.

Hmmm, it seems I've bought another version of this CD.

What can I say?: Most songs just suck. Listen to "Of mice and men" and you know what I mean.

Mustaine's gotto stop trying to make pop songs.

Pretty average in general. Only three songs that I listen to repeatedly: Blackmail, Kick, and Back. Luckily, a single I got for free at a concert has two of those songs on it, so no real need to buy this. Die Dead Enough sucks a lot.

This album is terrible crap. I hate it. Mustaine can't write good tunes anymore, and his voice isn't even half as vitriolic anymore. Sad.

I am so glad that you're banned. This is ok, with Back in the Day being the only song I love.

So...uh...why are you talking to a banned user? Too bad he's almost correct, it's a great album, but far from perfect.

Come on, dude, this album is just a very faint reminiscence to glorious albums like "Rust in Peace" and "Peace sells...".

Maybe it's a generation thing. How old are you, you said?

I'm 31, so it can't be a generation gap. Maybe he's just got a bad taste...

I'm 30. I don't care if it's not like old albums, I don't compare. I take albums as albums. This is a damn good album.
