Digipacks are the cardboard slipcases you sometimes get instead of jewelcases.

That's fucking shit! I thought it was some kind of thing superior to your average cd! Do you mean those cardboard slipcases that go over the jewel case, or literally all carboard, like the Burzum cds flying around nowadays?

They often have bonus tracks, as well. And yes, they're cheaper. And yes, they suck.

I actually like digipaks better, due to the possibility for expanded artwork it offers.

I don't like them because my copy of Def Leppard's Hysteria that I bought in 1987 is in better shape than digipaks that I bought 2 months ago. So annoying. Plus, as someone mentioned, once that plastic tray breaks, that CD doesn't hold in place anymore and just falls out. VERY annoying, especially because you can't replace the tray.

I do, however, like the extra stuff, just not the packaging.

Digipacks smell great.

Like old books! There is no smell better than that! Well, maybe the smell of summer rain in the evening... or "something" else...

Old books are teh shiz'n.

My friend's grandpa has a book from the 1800s! I want to smell it so bad (the book, not his grandpa).
