Weve had favourite guitarist and so on, so what are your favourite keyboardists/pianists or use of keyboards/piano in metal?

no no no, Arcturus! listen to the quadruple synth solo in "For to End Yet Again" by Sverd..

also Varg and Cristophe Ziegler (of Vinterriket) both play styles that I can't resist.

a lot of keys in metal can be overbearing though, yet again I prefer taste to talent.

Thats why i added use of keyboard/piano. You wouldnt say Varg is a very skilled pianist would you? But the keys add a lot to his music.

One of my favourite uses of piano is If I Could Fly by Helloween.

Favourite keyboard players are Jens, Tuomas Holopainen, Janne Wirman, Bob Katsionis, and Miro.

I second those Radagast suggested and add Mikko Naukkarinen(ex-Twilightning), Ronny Tegner(Pagan's Mind) and of course Tony Kakko.

Songs would be dunkelheit(burzum), librandi lib undir hamri(enslaved), wintry grey (arcturus), curse you all men!(emperor), children of bodom, la masquerade infernale (arcturus).
This is only off the top of my head. Now i want to listen to the albums i have from these bands!

Entombed - Left Hand Path. Sigh, Mirai's a kickass keyboardist. Mortiis's stuff is nice. Psychedelic stuff like Hawkwind and Meads Of Asphodel is amazing.

Dr. Pest of Die Apokalyptischen Reiter deserves a very honorable mention.

EMPEROR, Windir, Arcturus, Sigh, Evergrey, Green Carnation, Ulver, Peccatum, Hollenthon, Limbonic Art (although too much of it), Moonsorrow, Dark Tranquillity, Therion, (old) Theatre of Tragedy and the legends PINK FLOYD.

And Fantomas for some mind-fuckin' synths.
