Well, I agreed with him up until the 'mallcore screamo' bit. This is nothing new, just the second wave of American metalcore / thrash / melodeath bands, and eventually it'll implode, mark my words.

I'm not going to bash the band because I have only heard one song of theirs on the radio. I just don't find an album of 10 three minute songs remotely appealing. I always felt the same way about Slayer, too.

Just saw these guys at Ozzfest. They sounded decent, but they looked like the fucking Barenaked Ladies up there!!

Finally, I have gotten myself a copy of Miasma! And what I ride, loved it from start to the end. Kickass record.

So I was just sitting around thinking about band names like I always do, and I thought to myself, "Now why the fuck do they call themselves The Black Dahlia Murder?" After a quick google search I learned that there is in fact an intriguing story behind that name. It's pretty bizzare really, even more so that a band from Detroit (metal from Detroit what are the odds??) would be named after a murder in Los Angelos. Anyway, it's all sort of interesting if you just want to breeze through the articles.

oh 98/100 by the way. Yea I know, what a fucking insanely high score huh? Well I insanely love this album.

I dont see how people like this, I mean how much At The Gates ripping off can yous tand? :(

They have a lot of originality to their music, but I definitely hear an At The Gates influence. Half the melodeath bands out there are At The Gates rip offs.

Well I only have Slaughter of the Soul, and Miasma is no rip off of that. And even if it was, who gives a shit? At The Gates no longer exists. It's fair game.

yeah an At The Gates/In Flames/Dark Tranquillity influence is expected in any melodic death band. I think Miasma is very enjoyable, i love the vocals, i think thats what really makes this album stand out, so you can pick it out of the crowd.

This album shouldnt be bashed and shouldnt be praised like a masterpiece.
